Disney Visa perks for buying Disney?

Anybody ever heard of receiving more points per transaction if it's a Disney related charge? (i.e. Disney Store, vacation purchase, or ANY purchases while on a Disney vacation?) I have been a Disney card holder for a few years and have never noticed that but a co-worker is telling me it's true.

Not true. The Disney Visa earns 1% rewards regardless of the type of purchase. They sometimes run promotions where you can earn a higher % on certain categories, but in general it's 1% for everything.

I've been a cardholder since day one & I've never seen advertisement for, or gotten any extra rewards for Disney purchases. Only the promos as mentioned above, for certain categories like gas, groceries, airfare, etc.

Don't know of any points perks, but when we got our bill this month we found out that we had 6 months with no interest for the Disney trip (even though we booked through AAA). We'll plan to pay it off before our trip next month so we can have the points, but it was nice to see that if we needed it, it was there.

... so if we pay for an upcoming Disney trip with our Disney Visa, we get points for that purchase - that we can turn into Disney Reward Dollars to use on said trip?

Yup! That's the one great thing about the card....

I also have a Disney visa... besides calling and getting the rewards sent home on a card, is there a faster way to redeem the rewards while at Disney?

You can get a card at DTD and call the number and get the points transferred.

You know, I thought I had read that you earn more points for purchases on Disney Property and in Disney Stores - but since I thought I read it - I haven't been able to find where I got that idea from!

I'll keep looking - but as evidenced on out last statement during a WDW trip - I don't think it's true! LOL

But I will look again for where ever I might have read that!

Can't believe I missed that...yes please share. I have never seen anything higher than 5% (on select categories) and that was lowered to 2% and now has been discontinued.
