Is it a % off the room portion only, or room + tix, or the whole package with the dining plan too?????

Usually on these package discounts the savings is off the room portion of the package. It is a different amount for value, mod or deluxe resorts. Sometimes Mousesavers will list the amount of the discount. In the past when you added the dining to the package it was at the full price.

It seems to me that this code is applied by the day. So it is really hard to figure out the % off. If it is available for your whole stay (every night) it looks like it is about $39 off the values (based on the sample offer in the Visa e-mail).

However, and it is a big however, it depends on if any rooms are available with the discount. Of the 6 nights of my trip that fall within the discount dates only one night was available (at least that is all I can figure out).

Pop 11 nights Dec 17-28th, 3 adults 1 child, DDP, 10 day MYW hoppers.
Went from $3497.57 to $3448.47

Woo Hoo.

I did not try dropping the DDP, I think I'll call tomorrow and see what that does.

I think that I have the discount during regular season for the Poly figured out.

Standard Fee for our Tickets and Dining....$1064.12

Rack Rate for Poly GV for 2 adults $385/nite without tax
Rack Rate for 6 nites without tax $2310
Rack Rate for 6 nites + 12.5% Tax $2322.50

AAA Rate for Poly GV for 2 adults $346.50/nite without tax (10% off)
AAA Rate for 6 nites without tax $2079.00
AAA discount for 6 nites + 12.5% Tax $2338.86

Visa Code Rate for Poly GV for 2 adults $283.83/nite without tax ( roughly 26% off)
Visa Code Room Rate without tax $1703.33
Visa Code Room Rate + 12.5% Tax 1946.66

Thought I would share. Maggie

Here is the breakdown for our vacation:

11/16 - 11/22 2A, 2C (7 and 9)

AS Sports

Rack : 2,082.92
AAA : 1,982.24
VISA : 1,734.80

VISA is somewhere between 40-48% off the room rack rate. It is a little off because I applied to a AAA package that I made before the ticket prices went up.

Not sure of the actual % but when I called about my reservation and my DSis ressie it dropped both the exact same amount $128.98 for 8 nights at the All Star Music resort. Didn't even check to see what the rates would be for another location.

I believe the moderate resort discount is 40% per night - room only - before tax.

It does not apply to the tickets or the dining plan.

I'm mathmatically challenged...but my 4 night stay with 1 day tickets, with dining, 3 people over age 10...was $1687 with the code, and without, it was over $2100. I saved about $450 from what I can figure out. It appears that I got WL courtyard for $250 per night including tax, rack rate is $320 plus tax. It appears to be about $100 per night off the room...Someone with a calculator, what percentage off is that?

I wanted Contemporary or GF but there was absolutely nothing available.

:thumbsup2

I think that would be right around 30% - $450.00 is great savings!!:thumbsup2

....does anyone have a link or the specific website to look it up??

Ok first of all I'm new to Disney...
So I got jumpy and bought our 2 Adult 2 kid tickets before the increase took effect... I thought Yeah me... I saved us $:cool1:
We are not AP or AAA
So here is the dilema
But we do have the VISA...I have 5 nights 6 days base tickets on hold for $1088
But that means I have to send our previously purchased discounted (undercover tourist)tickets back...which will cost me about $50.
So that makes my total $1138.
Take out the $772 I initially paid for our tickets has us paying $73 with taxes etc. a night for Pop Century 11-11/11-16
I say all that to ask...
Does History seem to reason that I might could get a room only rate for less as it gets closer...or is Pop seeming to be full already?:confused3
Thanks for insight!

Is this true? Did you have to ask the CRO agent which nights are available? The CRO agent I got just applied the Visa code. Maybe I should call back?

Discount Type: Disney Visa ZQL
Resort: POFQ Standard Room
Party: 2 Adults
Dates: December 17 - 26 (9 nights)
Tickets: 9 Day MYW + Park Hopper (no waterparks)
Dining: No
Travel Insurance: Yes
Total Price $1886.38
Savings: $240.84 (12%) off rack rate of $2127.22

Now, if I assume the tickets and travel insurance prices are not discounted with the Visa code...
I split out the tickets ($539.15) and the travel insurance ($119.90) from the totals and calculate:
Room Only @ Rack Rate: $1468.17
Room Only @ Visa Rate: $1227.23

It's only a 16% discount on the room. I am checking into a moderate during value season. And If I try to book a room only reservation via disney.com, it displays $145 (the value season mod rate) for EVERY night.

Did I do something wrong? Should I call back and have them check it?

Thanks!

I figured out why I only saved $40(ish) with the code.

I had booked before the change to nightly rates on 8/05/07, and I was checking in during value season. So I had value season rates for all 11 nights. When I added the code they changed me to nightly billing so I switched to value season for 2 nights and holiday for 9. That just about wiped out my savings.

I think that was really sneaky and I am pretty mad at Disney right now. I am thinking about booking an off site condo instead. If it were any other time of year I wouldn't think twice, but I am worried about trying Christmas w/o EMH access.

Maybe that's what is happening to me too? We're both checking in on 12/17/2007. But I am not convinced this explains it. If it wasn't our honeymoon, I would consider changing the dates. Oh well.

I called and tried to swtich from POFQ to CSR just to see if maybe there was a "special internet rate" that other people seemed to be talking about. It was the exact same price for our dates. I guess I can't do any better.
