Hi Guys,
I was just reading about the Meet and Greet and I wondered if any of you have done it. Was it fun? What characters? And do you need reservations?

:flower3: Thanks!

When I did it there was Capt Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Goofy...and I think Donald. They were all dressed up in "sailing" clothes! It was sooooo cute!!

You don't need reservations, but there are only certain times/days that you can do it so make sure you find that out at the beginning of your trip. It was at Ariel's when I was there last summer.

this is from disneyrewards.com :

# Cardmember-exclusive Character Meet 'N' Greet Event takes place at Seasons of the Vine in Disney's California Adventure® Park (Golden State District).
# Must present a valid Disney Rewards Visa Card for admission (limited to 6 people per card).
# Begins when the park opens and runs for 90 minutes.
# Each Cardmember group will receive one complimentary 5x7 group photo with Disney characters; additional photos will be available for purchase.

but I heard something about seasons of the vine closed now? so if it's moved, i don't know where to

Not sure how timely this will be since I've heard that they will be moving it . .. but right now the Meet and Greet is in a small room next to the Golden Vine Winery . . . . if you go to the winery you will see the signs. There may or not be a short line, then when you get to the front of the line the CM will verify that you have a Disney Visa, and you and your party (up to 6 I believe) will be let into the room. IN the room are the characters (when we went it was my faves--Chip and Dale!) --the room is odd--it's almost set up like a small chapel with benches. (Kept thinking it would be a lovely place for a small wedding.) There are one or two photopass photogs in there and they take your pictures, give you a photopass card and you are on your way!

We were five adult women (we are board members of a charity that was sending single parents who had gone back to college and their kids to DL for the day) and we had a lot of fun! Poor Chip, however, one of my friends called him a "squirrel" and I don't think he could get past it!

We went Feb 23rd, and it was still at Season's of the Vine, we met Mickey and Goofy in their hiking or travelling(?) gear and we got pictures with our whole party, totalling 6, and then they took the time to take pictures with just the kids, sans baby, and gave the kids big hugs and such. The CM gave me a card for the complimentary picture, and I didn't read that I had to get my photo within 24 hours, I just thought I could get it at anytime before my trip was over, so I didn't end up getting my free picture, but all of the photo's are on my photopass CD, so I can print any of the ones I want.

We had 8 in our group, and it was not a problem. We saw Mickey and Goofy one day and Chip and Dale another.

I've done it twice lately at Seasons of the Vine. Usually we don't arrive at DCA until after the 1-1/2 hour time is up. Luckily we've been there in time the last 2 trips. First time it was Chip and Dale. They spent alot of time with DD8 as there wasn't anyone else waiting. :goodvibes Last time, Mickey and Goofy were just leaving and Chip arrived at the same time we did. I asked about what time Mickey and Goofy were coming back and they told me 11 a.m. I also confirmed that it was open until 11:30 (park opened at 10). Again we had Chip all to ourselves for 5-10 min. as the only other guest waiting wanted both Chip and Dale and Dale was on his way. Chip did get into a little mischief, while waiting, with the flower pot props and made quite a mess! The same thing happened last time with Chip and Dale. If there isn't a line, it's a great way for your kids to interact with characters for more than a quick photo op. :grouphug:

The first time I used the coupon to buy the one with Chip and Dale (had their autographs added on) and last time I used it to buy one taken with DD and I with Stitch coming out of the ground. The coupon is good for ANY PP pix taken (maybe only at DCA?) and the ones I've been given recently are good until Sept. 08. So, if you don't get to using it the day you get it, you can still use it at another time. :goodvibes

Just a tip--TECHNICALLY it is only to be used for a picture taken at the meet and greet, but my experience is too that the CM doing the photos at Greetings will "on the sly" tell you that you can choose another one . . . .

It all depends on which CM as to if you get to pick any pic taken in DCA or if you only can get the meet and greet pic. We have taken advantage of the pic op every time we have gone. They make great souvies! Don't pass up the chance. We have had Mickey & Goofy, Chip and Dale (my faves), and Goofy and Max. We usually have several families together and if you all show a VISA, they will let more than the allotted 6 people in the group picture. Actually, last April, we had 20 people in the pic.

This weekend is the end of seasons of the vine, it will be turning in the DCA preview center - where they will have displays for the future/current expansion plans.

Not sure where they plan on moving this too. But after this weekend it won't be there.

Thank you for all your answers... I will put it on our must do's

It sounds so cute. :thumbsup2

No decisions have been made where they are moving it to yet. I checked on that this morning as well. Announcements will be made later in the week.

Just bumping up to see if anyone knows where this has been relocated too? The website still says it's at Season of the Vine. Anyone know anything yet?

TIA!

Yes, I would like to know too!

Yes, I would like to know too!

We were just there this past weekend (Easter Sunday) and it was still at the Season of the Vine room. The characters we had were Chip and Dale. It was nice and quiet and we were not at all rushed. They even chased my DS2 around the room until he settled down for a picture. :dance3:

last i heard, seasons of the vine is closing this weekend.

Yeah I misspoke, it is THIS Sunday 3/30 that Seasons closes, I thought it was last Sunday (Easter). Still no word that I know of where it will be changed to.

We just got back and it was near the Monsters inc. ride in the back corner of the park.
