So just where is this perk that Disney Visa mentions as their Private Location For Cardmembers for a Character Meet-n-Greet? Times? Is it a really a good perk?

It's in Innoventions West in Epcot, near where the firetruck is. You get to meet (usually) 3 or 4 characters and get a free 5x7 photo. I really like doing it. It's available from 1pm until 7pm. Wait times vary. They are usually shortest right at the beginning of the time.

Value is always open to personal interpretation. I am usually very aware of time vs. value. For us, it was not a great perk.

For one thing, it's just a photo. In the age of digital, I don't much bother with printed photos much any more. I value large print photos at $1.50 not the $20+ WDW charges.

Second, it is time consuming: line to see characters, go to the front of park to pick up photo (remember it, maybe carry it, wait in line). I have not done this for quite some time, but the time spent was not really worth one photo.

It would be a better perk, IMO, if I could order the print online after we're home. Like I said though, it has been a while. Maybe they added the online part. ;) And maybe the wait is not as bad as it was when the perk was new.

If you use photopass, they will add all photos taken to your account. You'll have to pay for the extra print, unless you have the new memory maker (or a previously purchased and still active photopass+). With memory maker, you'll get the digital prints, too.

We've done this a few times, we only go if the hours they are open coincide with us being in that area.

The line has never been too long for us, the most we have waited was maybe 10 minutes.

I like it because we have always gotten pictures with two characters there and they always take a LOT of pictures. We don't even bother with the free 5x7 usually, all the pictures show up on the PhotoPass (I guess now MM) so I just print what I want afterward.

We have done this every year for about 5 years and have never seen 4 characters and I think we have only had 3 once. One year we even went twice and except of the one time it has been 2 characters. We've never seen Donald or Daisy. It has always been some combo of Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. You can only go and get a picture, once a day but if you go to Epcot more than one day you can repeat the experience a 2nd day.

You get one free 5x7 even if you don't have photopass or memory maker. But you do need to try to pick it up before leaving the park. Last year they allowed us to get it at Downtown Disney the next day but that is something I would check on before leaving.

I have a visa/Disney card ............... I did see that perk online. Do you have to make reservations for it? or can you just show up?

Wow I think you were lucky.

We just did this last week. We waited about 15 minutes and met with two characters (Minnie and Pluto), although the CM told someone else it would be any of the Fab 5 characters. We got all photos taken updated to our MM, and we got a free 5 x 7 print, but we had to stop and get it before park close that night.

We did this once years ago and it was Minnie Pluto and Tigger...yeah i know this was like 6 years ago.

Thanks...My wife an I would like to recreate a photo from our Disney Honeymoon 25 years ago with Mickey, but don't want to have to wait forever if possible...

Note: It's one free photo per card holder per day. Both my spouse and I have cards, so we could (if we were willing to wait in line) get 2 photos a day for free. In DL, you can get any photo that's on your photo pass, while in WDW, we were only allowed to get our EPCOT photo.

(Note this info is from a 2010 trip, so it could be out of date)

I think it depends which CM you get in the photo shop, I've been allowed to choose any picture on our photopass as the free pic before in Epcot.

I've never waited over 15 minutes either (but get there before they open or the line gets long). We've had Mickey, Minnie and Goofy and Mickey, Donald and Pluto, some combination of the Fab 5 each time. I have about 4 of these.

That being said I don't plan around it - if it's about that time and we notice we head that way. It is indoor air conditioned waiting so it usually works for us.

We just did this on May 10, and it was one of the best 10 min of the whole trip! It is in INNOVENTIONS WEST, (I think West, and CMs will be able to direct you but there is a sign above it. It was pretty easy to find once we figured out which Innoventions side to go to.)

We had zero line, it was about 5pm, our group walked up, I had two cards and he hardly even looked at them. Super cheerful guy! I said "Do you know who is in there?" He said "Of COURSE I know, but I"m not going to tell you, it's a surprise!" And in we went, and I have to say, I absolutely felt like a KID again! There was Minnie and Pluto, just waiting for us! It was such a delight. Especially considering I had just gotten off of the Magic the day before and even the Minnie, Mickey, Daizy characters had lines that literally wrapped around the atrium. I felt REALLY special, knowing that these characters are literally just waiting for US from 1-7!

And all the photos are great! I saved my PhotoPass card and downloaded some of them this morning. I also got 2 free prints (because we have 2 accounts.) And I was told when I was getting them processed that we could have taken a new photo for free every day that we were at Epcot! Good to know! (I was also told that we get an exclusive lounge on a roof top during Food & Wine fest.) My friends that were with us never got to take their photo even though they had the card, I guess too much hopping (we did base days.)

For me, this was one of my favorite parts of the trip and the family photo is one I'm going to treasure for a long time. (Our family got together from 3 states, WA state, Gulf Coast and KY for our Disney Land & Sea + Sea World trip.) This is one of my favorite souvenirs!

Definitely don't miss the chance to get at least one on your trip! Character lines take SO long, and this is definitely in one of my favorite perks of the card! (Besides paying for half of our cruise, having $175 to use for park tickets, and then $104 to use at Brown Derby Fantasmic- holy moly what an AMAZING dinner!!!!- and then having $26 more in rewards for Ep after we got off the cruise, AND getting 6 months interest free on our On Board expenses and excursions!)

My husband says I'm smiling WAY too much! :woohoo: :thumbsup2
This is one I got off of the photo pass this morning:

These were to the 2 prints I got from my vouchers:

I definitely will be keeping my cards moving forward. It is a guaranteed great character interaction in addition to all the perks we got. Still one of my favorites anyway! Who has time to sit in a line?

Loved your pics! I have done this pic experience maybe twice, but we have only been in January and early March, so we just walked right in. The CM waiting outside was so glad to see us when we showed up, she was probably bored! I will do this when I go next month, if there is a huge line, we probably won't wait, but it is kinda fun.

We do this each trip we take and have six or seven pictures from different years. The line has always moved along quickly for us...we usually wait around 15-20 minutes. The line to get the photo has always been a bit longer. We never seem to time it right! We've always had two characters when we've visited. It's always been a combination of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto.

I have noticed a decline in the quality of the photos. When we first started going the pictures were in focus and looked great. As the years have gone on the photos have gotten worse. This year the photos were completely out of focus. We are all blurry! The person helping us print the photo couldn't believe what he was seeing. Last years picture wasn't as bad. I don't know if we'll continue to do this as it's no fun having blurry pictures.
