The Disney Visa Meet 'n Greet can be used to get any 5x7 at the parks. Simply go to the Meet 'n Greet, enjoy the characters and get your voucher. Then add pictures during the day to your photopass. When ready, get a 5x7 of your choice and pay at the cahiers using your voucher. They don't really care about what picture you get.

I did this on each day of our visit, getting free pictures of us in both DCA and DL. I got my free pictures on the Greetings store at DCA, lines at DL were always much longer.

The only caveat is that they have to ring the free 5x7 at a special price of $11 when selecting your picture (which is the voucher value). Regular 5x7 are around $12.xx. I wasn't sure if I was breaking any rules, so I did not indicate I was going to use a voucher, so they rang them up at the higher price. Cashiers knew how to adjust the price so it came up free most of the time, but one cahier was clueless and I ended up paying $1.xx for the picture.

Sorry if this is a repost.

Actually,it really depeds on which cashier rings you up. Some are very strict about the "Visa meet and greet ONLY!" while some are lenient about it. Don't go in expecting everyone to do the same thing, you may be dissappointed to "have" to follow the established rules.

i agree it depends on the CM at the time.

this goes for both DL and WDW and I have had it both ways in both places. I never argue or say well last time. I just take what I'm suppose to and act dumb to try to get one of the others if I like tem better.

The funny thing is we always find that one great shot of the M&G that ends up as our Phone Wallpapers and on DWs desk.

While I can understand that this is CM dependent, at least at the Greetings store the process to order involves 3 people:

1. The one who helps you select and order the prints, and gives you the slip to go pay
2. The cashier who takes the slip and the voucher
3. The pickup counter, were you hand in your receipt and get your pictures

#2 is the one that can question you, but he never sees the pictures. Maybe the process is different at other stores. :confused3

I was at DL last week and tried to get a free 5x7 that was not from the meet and greet. The very friendly cast member said it would only work with the meet and greet photos. My understanding from him was that he could not choose any photos other than the meet and greet ones and that the computer would not let him select any others. I may have misunderstood but this is what he led me to believe. I had the idea that if he could have he would have let me pick any photo I wanted.

Actually, the unofficial Disney line is - if you aren't happy with the way your Meet and Greet photos turn out, you can use the voucher for another photo taken on your photopass card. Disney doesn't want people to have to choose a poor (in the guests mind) photo. We were able to use our vouchers for photos from the m n' g as well as photos around the parks.

The CM who said the computer would not let him choose other photos was mistaken or just feeding you a line.

We were able to choose other photos when we went to turn in our vouchers in DCA but we were told it was only because the Meet n Greet photos weren't considered "good, printable photos"...the CM had her finger over part of the lens in one photo and Mickey's big hand was covering my daughter's entire head in the other photo.

Yup, agreeing with the others who said that it depends on the CM. We have had it happen both ways. The last trip, the CM insisted that it was only the Meet and Greet pictures because VISA pays for those pictures. That was a bummer, we have one pic that would have nice to have, but I guess if we really wanted it, we could have paid for it. :confused3

Does anyone know the rules on this? Are you only suppose to have one picture taken per trip? We had 2 done on our last trip and I felt kind of guilty and thought I was going to get caught!!

We lost our meet and greet photopass but still had the coupon and they allowed us to pick a different picture with it. We loved doing the meet and greet but it was a royal pain to find anyone who could tell us where it was.^^

We just did it this weekend. I don't have the voucher any more, of course, but it did say on it any CHARACTER photo. So both times I did it I picked a generic character photo, but not the meet and greet one.

at WDW, you can have up to 2 per day (meaning 2 separate accounts, 1 per). you can go every day if you wish. granted, it's harder to get to the meet & greet every day than it is at DLR but i wouldn't expect it to be any different unless the rules strictly forbid it.

It was in Ariel's Grotto when we went 2 years ago. Is it still there? We would like to do it again when we visit next week Thanks in advance!

it's moved

Character Meet 'N' Greet
Cardmember-exclusive Character Meet 'N' Greet Event takes place at Seasons of the Vine in Disney's California Adventure® Park (Golden State District).
Must present a valid Disney Rewards Visa Card for admission (limited to 6 people per card).
Begins when the park opens and runs for 90 minutes.
Each Cardmember group will receive one complimentary 5x7 group photo with Disney characters; additional photos will be available for purchase.

sounds like it only runs until 11:30 - is this right?

In CA we found it in a little room at the Vine....something seasons. It's only open 90 minutes after the park opens and we had to go into the hotel to find someone who could find out where it was. But in the end it was really worth it.

Seasons of the Vine!

Great info too - thanks! Anyone able to use the voucher on line at the photopass site???
