Disney Visa discounts?

I have the Disney Visa but would prefer not to use it to pay for stuff on this trip. Can I get the discounts just for having the card or do they only apply discounts to purchases made with the card?

From what I understand most of the benefits are only if you USE the card. Of course, the free stroller is still free and doesn't require you to use it. Same for the photo session. But the discount does require you to use the card.

Sorry to intrude....but, during the visa photo thingy in the Backlot, can you get signatures at that time as well?

We got signatures at ours in WDW. I don't see why it would be any different at DLR.

Thanks for the info. I guess it couldn't hurt to ask about the discounts. Kind of the whole "expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed". Maybe we'll get lucky.

We have had the same experience. Some CMs let us get the discount when we used our rewards card too.

When I was there in Sept and in Jan, we could use the card (and not have to pay with it) if we paid in cash or with another card that had my name (the same name as on the Disney Visa Rewards Card) on it. Hope that helps!

When my dad asked to use my discount, they wouldnt let him put it on his card.

I have only had to show them my card in order to use the discount.
i usually show them the magic points card.

Actually, I have shown the card and then charged the purchase to my room on several occasions to get the discount.
