I just signed up for a Disney Visa in hope of getting a better price on our room in Oct. How do they let you know about the discounts? By email or letter? And is there much chance of getting one for Oct?

Also we want to do that 7 hour, 3 park tour. Can I book that over the phone with my card and get the tour discount?

I did call and there was no code/pin with our name but I did read here that they won't come out until Aug.

We do have AAA so I can check there too. I am hoping for a rate with the Disney Visa.

Thanks for your help.

I can't answer about the tour, but for any Disney Visa discounts, in my experience, notifications have been sent by email, in my statement, and sometimes by mail. But there are times the emails come late (after the specials have come out) or they don't come at all . Last year I got the email for free dining about 3 or 4 days AFTER it was announced....and this year I don't think I got an email at all :scared1:. But if there are any discounts going to be coming up, it is usually flying around here on the boards beforehand ::yes::.

I have never gotten any notifications
from my Disney Visa either.:confused3

They are always here first.
:disrocks:

Thanks for the info. I will keep up with the boards and start calling for a code in August.

Last year and this year I did receive the email for free dining before it was available to the public - about 4 days. Not much earlier, but with how some had had difficulties in getting the room they wanted it might matter somewhat as the free dining catches on more each year. I did receive my 5xs rewards offer about a month via email after I received the postcard in the mail. I had already signed up so maybe everyone just received that one as a reminder. I do also receive other mailings but just haven't done many. They send emails for specials on Broadway plays as well. Good for me since we live 40 miles away!

If you aren't signed up for newsletters from Mousesavers, I highly recommend that as well.

According to Mousesavers, codes for late fall are usually announced in the middle of August - that's how we were able to get ours for 2006. I occasionally get emails from Disney Visa with offers but it is not consistent.

You'll get either a 15% or 20% discount using your Disney Visa, which might be the same as the AP or AAA discount. Tell them which you might be eligible for.

You will need to charge it to your card to get the discount.

Pardon me if this question has already been asked. But I just recently got my Visa and have a couple questions.
I want to get my package booked as soon as I can. If I have a package currently booked and I have paid for the water park and more option. And they do the free ticket upgrade for Feb. can I call up and apply that discount? Will my card just be credited for the savings on the package?
thank you!:)

Not everyone received the 5xs visa rewards. My sister sent me the email and when I tried to use it for my Disney Visa it was not allowed. :worried: But if you watch the disboards the codes will show up as soon as they are posted!:surfweb:

Yes, I know that everyone wasn't sent this offer. My guess is that they sent it to people that weren't using the card enough in hopes of charging a lot, you had to charge over 250 (this threshold was different for some as well) each mo to get the extra. It was fine for us since I actually sent a check at the beginning of the month estimating the groceries I would purchase and then just charge and get the extra dollars. One must be very careful since Chase would really like you to keep a balance so they earn interst.

I have never received any notification from my Disney Visa. I have always heard about the discounts from Mousesavers.com and they have an emailing list.:thumbsup2
