I was in the Disney store when a CM suggested I get a debit or credit card from Chase for Disney. So I called Chase and the woman told me they don't do debit cards. Then I had to send her to her own Chase site to show her they did, etc. So can someone tell me on here the difference between the two? What do you get with them? It said discounts at select restaurants and on select merchandise? What are those? Also, can I show my disney card but yet charge it on a credit card instead? I'd prefer to get the debit card for Disney but pay with the kids gift cards they are getting for their birthday.

disneyrewards.com will show the various "perks" including special offers, 10% off merchandise purchase over $50 at disney stores and parks, 10%off a few in park restraunts (explore theme park perks area for specific info), special discounts that change periodically. Oh, Epcot Food & Wine Festival early booking as well. In order to get any discounts and to book events I've always had to put it on the credit card. (It was annoying I had to pay with my card in parks AND ask the clerk for the discount instead of just paying with my key but I wasn't going to give up the discount.) I don't know about a debit card.

You can get a Disney Debit to replace your regular Debit for your Chase checking account. It gives you all the same perks as the (Regular Disney Visa) Credit Card.

I just googled it and sure enought there is a debit card. I am thinking of opening an account just for the perks however I dont like that it doesnt earn rewards like the regular credit card. Also it only offers 4 designs.

Researching both their credit and debit cards, but before pulling the trigger on either one, wanted to know if the perks for either of the 2 included advance notice for special event tickets sales (i.e. - Mickey's Halloween Party), and discounts on those special event tickets. Any feedback would be appreciated!

You are correct that it doesn't earn you points, but you do get perks like character meets even with the debit.

We have two Disney Visas and just got Disney debit card to get the $300 bonus. In the paperwork they gave us and on the debit card perks on website it only mentions the regular meet and greet in California Adventure, not the Star Wars meet and greet in Disneyland. We have seen debit cardholders turned away from the Star Wars meet and greet and one person turned away from the regular meet and greet but he showed the CM the debit card site and was allowed in after all. I only saw one WDW meet and greet listed for debit card.

We have the credit and the debit and we were told at the Chase branch that the perks are the same on both products. We've had our Chase Disney visa for many years but recently switched our checking account over to Chase and that is where we got a Disney debit card.
