Hey all...

Got a call today from Chase regarding our Disney Visa account. Apparently, they were notified that our account had been compromised  (I'm going to guess from the whole Home Goods hacking). She went over a bunch of recent charges to make sure no one had been using the card. I was very relieved about that.

They immediately cancelled the account and said they would send new cards in five days. My dh is going away tomorrow, so she offered to FedEx new cards out to us.

I have to say, I was impressed with the way they handled it. In a way, it's funny because we are still using our old Bank One cards - we never bothered to upgrade to the new Chase designs - so, now I get a new card.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have used my Amex at Home Goods (I never shop at Marshall's or TJMaxx, so those stores weren't an issue for me). I haven't heard from Amex yet. I wonder if I should call.:confused3

I would call AMex. TJX (Parent Co to TJMaxx, Marshall's, HomeGoods, and Bob's Stores) had a MAJOR credit card breach/hack. They are a local company here in MA, and it's all over the news. I work in IT for another MA retailer, and my main area of responsibility is our credit card integration. I have spent a GREAT deal of time with our internal and external auditors in the past week.

A quick call to Amex could set your mind at ease, or let you know there's a problem, and let you know what action you need to take.

Happened to me too. Great big pain in the butt! But I am still really happy with the boots I bought that day at TJMaxx. :thumbsup2

It happened to us, too... but in a strange way.

DH & I had just booked the room for our December trippie less than an hour before Disney Visa called. My DM answered the phone and immediately gave it to us (it was a recording)... asking for us to press some number to be connected to a rep. to confirm a purchase... but by the time she gave us the phone, the call had been disconnected.

So... DH immediately calls back to see what was going on... and starts talking to a fraud alert person... but they couldn't find anything suspicious on his account! So... we (along w/ the fraud person) start wondering if there was someone fishing for info over the phone... she did ask what number was called, and found out that it was my parent's account that had been compromised!

Now... this was November... my parents haven't used their disney visa since AUGUST when they went to WDW! The fraud person said that there was a $2,000 purchase attempted at the Coach purse/bag company's website that they rejected. No other charges had been made, and my parents received their new visas within a few days...

DH & I, because of their quick response time and AWESOME fraud alert personnel, decided to make our Disney Visa our primary card :thumbsup2

Yes, fradulent charges were made on my Disney Visa about a year ago. Visa rep called right away about 3k worth of charges made in Fl and CA. Now is this really odd since I have a very uncommon name and live in MN..

IIt's annoying, but I was impressed by the fraud alert personnel. Very knowledable and willing to answer anxious questions on my part.

Paperwork was cleared up quickly.

herc..

I own a retail store and do tons of buying overseas. I have to say, they've been fantastic about calling me and verifying that these $2000-7000 purchases are legit.

Also - when she said they were closing out the account and reissuing the cards, she made sure to tell me that they would be notifying the credit bureaus to let them know the account was being closed because it had been compromised and not for any other reason - so we won't get a "ding" on our credit rating.

I'll give Amex a call in the morning. I monitor my accounts almost daily, so it's unlikely a fraudulent charge would get by me...but, still - it's just so darn creepy.
