Disney Visa Code speculation or fact

Historically, will the (hopefully) upcoming Disney Visa code be a room only code or a package code? Another question, if it's a package do I have to buy tickets for all the room guests? I've already used Disney bucks to buy 2 of 4 tickets, so this is why I'm wondering. I only need two more park tickets.

Thanks.

Yes, if it is a package code you do have to buy tickets for everybody. However, you do not have to use those tickets. You can save them for a later trip. Also, to save money you may purchase 1 day base tickets and then upgrade the other two tickets to what you want at guest services for the price difference.

I've also heard that you can just put two people on the ressie, getting tickets for them and then add the other two people to the ressie at check-in without having to buy tickets. Granted, I've only heard this and do not know if it is true. Of course, if it does work, you can't have two children on the ressie if that is what you need. One of the two tickets you'd need to purchase would have to be for an adult 18+ (and the Disney Visa card holder for that package).

I do believe the rumor is for a Disney Visa code package and then a later general public code for a package. But, then again, we were all expecting the code to come out today.

So if we have to purchase 1 day base tickets to make a package, you do not have to use them and then we can upgrade them at a later date (next year)?

Is this true?:confused3 We already have tickets.

Just have your tickets put on a separate media at check in. If the check-in desk can't do it, concierge can. You can then upgrade them at a later date. It is always best to use them first (it will pull them up to current gate price rather than just valued at purchase price), then upgrade. I am assuming of course, that you (or anyone) will purchase at a discount or wait out another price increase. All upgrades must be done within 14 days of first use, but you can wait years before using them the first time.

whats considered a package tickets and room or tickets, room and dining for last years visa code?

A package can be just tickets and room done together at time of reservation.

In fact, (at least for value and moderates) for November for example, it's cheaper to get a 'room/tix' package than room reservation and tix purchase separately. For value I priced the package at $50 less, and you do get the extra freebies they are throwing now (5x7, $15 for PH, minigolf).

The drawback on doing the package is you must pay in full 45 days before arrival. For a room only, it's just the first night.

My .02..

Thanks, rt2dz! If it is indeed a package, I'll use your suggestion and simply hold my already purchased tickets for another trip. Since our kids are getting older (one starts college and another is a a 10th grader), our next trip will be just the DW and myself. We'll put those tickets to good use then--maybe upgrade them to AP's :)

To the poster who mentioned a code for DisneyLAND for the fall, is that for a stay in the Disneyland Hotel (or one of the other close-by properties)? Is it a package, or room-only?

Is the Disney Visa code normally better than the pin codes? I just booked a 3 night stay for October, using the pin code, but i am wondering if my Disney Visa would bring me a better discount? Could i switch discounts from pin code to DV?

My DBF got his postcard yesterday with his VISA code. I won't see it until later today and then I'll be planning my 12/11 - 12/15 birthday trip! I hope it's good. I'm living it up this year at one of the monorail resorts. Hope the price is right!

When the package code comes out first and then, historically anyway, the room only code comes out a few weeks later, is there a way to figure out which is the better deal? I would think the room only would be if we aren't doing the dining package and already bought our tickets a year ago. We're planning to go mid-December.
