We have just received this latest edition today and inside is the offer to get $75 gift card first time you use the Disney Visa Card and this can be towards annual fees.

Have logged on to the site as shown www.dvc75offer.com but we from the UK are barred from applying as living outside the US.

Have logged on to the site and sent an email of complaint to Disney as I can see no reason why we cannot have one of these cards with all of the benefits we read about.
Anyone else tried this ? perhaps if a few of us do complain we will get the same benefits as US which is only fair being full DVC members.

Brenda:confused:

I have always wandered why they didn't have a different system for sending the mail overseas (guess it would cost them to much) can't see much point why they send us some of the literature.

Don't think you will get very far with DVC concerning the cc to be honest. You are effectively asking the US to give you credit, it would cost them far to much to chase people for payments etc from overseas. We've had a US bank account for a few years and I know you can't even get a CC with an account in the US.

I know the rules are different but what about american express they are serviced and all statements apparently are drawn up in New Orleans so they told me. We also have an offshore USD account but still feel there is no reason why Disney cannot do something similar for us British members. After all $75 off the fees are quite a little bit and would be worth having.

I complained about not being able to get the Visa card when it was first introduced. They said they were looking for a European bank / card company to partner them. As I still worked for Barclay's at the time I suggested they use Barclaycard who already had experience with affinity cards. That was years ago and still no sign of a European version of the card.

Hi,
I wonder if this is another example of the insular attitude of some US businesses. Take DVC for instance have you ever seen an advertisement for them in the UK? When we need to complete a form online how many times do you find it won't accept UK telephone numbers or you have to enter a State?
And my favourite pay at pump gas stations that won't take UK credit cards because you have to input a zip code. Yet another reason why I wish they would let me live there!!

Mick.

:cool2:

This is good to know, I spent a while on search engines looking for a UK version of the Disney Visa, now I know why I couldn't find one!

Seems strange that they appear to be struggling to find a European partner though, I'd have thought many banks would have seen this as a money spinner.:confused3
Never mind-maybe one day we can all be the owner's of those cute little red Mickey Mouse credit card's too:)

don't get me started....

I mean as an AP holder you don't even get a Mickey Monitor if you're overseas. And if I win something big in the year of a million dreams I don't think I will get it as I am not from the US, Canada or the UK...

what annoys me is those who have the card can gain points and put these towards their dues whilst us here in the UK can't

Hear hear!

And get special pins, and get photo opportunities etc etc etc. Come on Disney - get a european card too!
