Disney Visa Card Holders...read This!!!

FYI...

I called disney today trying one last time to get a discount of some sort on my POR room for 10-13 through 10-22...anyway, when I mentioned I am a Disney Visa Card Holder, she looked and said the codes are coming out 9-3-03 for the Disney Visa for stays from 11-1-03 through 12-31-03. She mentioned the rate for POR at that time would be approx $88.00 per night/standard room. Unfortunately nothing for the time I am going to be there so needless to say, my res were cx'd and I am booked for Hotel Royal Plaza for half of the money for POR.
Sorry Disney, with the economy the way it is and a child in private school, HRP looks a little better than POR at this time.

Anyhow....I am happy for all of you that this will benefit. Now remember, I heard about this from the disney employee, so if codes don't come out like I said don't blame me.

Speaking of the Disney Visa Card...How do I claim the reward dollars I have earned for our upcoming trip on October? Do I need to do anything special? Do I have to get a vacation package in order to claim the $ or is booking a room sufficient?

Call the toll free number on the back of your card and ask them to mail you vouchers. They send them in increments of 10, so make sure you have at least 10 reward dollars credited to your account. Make sure you tell them if you are planning on spending them at Disney World or if your intnetions are at the Disney Store, cause that will make a difference on what they send you....at least it did when I requested mine a month ago.

The thing about availability of discounts at Disney is that there's the possibility they can change at any time --- not a guarantee the dates you want will become available, but the possibility. I'm just suggesting that you keeping trying, if you're really interested in POR (or any of the moderates). You may have already asked about each individual night, but sometimes part of the time is available and can be booked at the discount rate and you can keep trying for the other nights. (It used to be that Saturday nights were very busy and could be difficult to get.)

You can also order the reward certificates online by going to their website. The URL is http://online.firstusa.com/bolHome.aspx?partner=disney Right now the certificates are on backorder until 9/12, I think.

I registered at the Disney Visa web site and ordered them through there. They came in about 1 week. And like someone already mentioned, you need to order them in increments of 10 or 20 reward dollars.

turnlisa: This is OT but I wanted to say I grew up in Eastpointe. Lived on North Avenue for many years, right on the corner just down from the high school! I have good friends still in Eastpointe, one teach's at the middle school (Oakwood).

Deb, you probably had a hard time getting a better discount on POR b/c it's getting pretty busy at that time (at WDW0. With the F & W, golf tornament, MNSSHP, Happy Haunts Event (58 more days!), etc. I just stayed at POR in May and liked it alot. Granted, I did get a discount, but this resort was not my first choice. When i called for a ressie last Nov., I tried for POFQ and could not get it.

Small world! I actually grew up in Northern Michigan (Mio to be exact -- graduating class of 48 people) and ended up here about 6 years ago. We live just north of 8 Mile and Gratiot.

just to let everyone know....I did send an e-mail nasty-gram to disney guest services telling them my side of how unfair it was to give no offers to the Visa cardholders for the month of October. I know it will do nothing, but I feel a little better.

Forgive my ignorance on something like this but I was wondering if you book a room only code like this through CRO or WDTC? I am trying to plan a trip for November and have a Disney Visa card. Never have had a chance to use it for anything worthwhile so I would love to be able to get a discount with it (if indeed they do come out).

So, I just got my disney visa....how are visa holders notified of room discounts? Does it come with the statement or elsewhere and is it kinda out in the open or do we need to investigate? And it seems they will come out the same timeframe (1-2 months prior) as other discount codes....

I am so glad to hear this news even though I won't be going to disney until August 2004. But, it gives me hope that we might get a disney visa discount code for BC next year. Now, I don't know if I should book YC just in case I can get a good discount.

Did anyone get the yellow Lion King flyer in the mail for the broadway show?

I accidentally threw mine away and I wanted to order tickets for my girl scout troop.

?s:
1. Can you preorder before sale to general public?
2. Does it have a ticket limit?
3. Is there a number to call? Or do you need the flyer to order?

If anyone has this, they can pm me with the info. Or if anyone would be willing to send me their flyer if they don' t need it

It is not coming to Pittsburgh until January, but I am afraid the tickets will sell out when they go to general public.

I just checked the Disney Visa website and there is a new deal posted. Something about receiving $50 Disney Dollars at check in when booking the Dream Maker package through WDTC and using your Visa for the deposit. Ask for code ZXBL or ZXBM. It's good for most nights 11/2 – 11/24/03 and 11/28 – 12/25/03.

Just FYI, there are all kinds of deals listed on the website for the rewards Visa. I haven't seen anything that worthwhile yet but they were listing the FairyTale Package when it was available. Details about the Lion King show are up there as well. Hope that this helps!
