Disney Visa Card Holder discount for August/September

I just got one night before our package begins (8/15) - Coronado Springs for $99.
That was the only mod available, but it means there are still discounted rooms to be had.

I called this morning and was told nothing was available for our dates 8/16-8/22 anywhere. I was hoping to save a few more bucks!

Interesting because, I called today and was told there was availability using the Disney Visa code at Beach Club, POR and Fort Wilderness for those same exact dates. I wasn't interested in any of those so I didn't get the rates though. No availability at WL or Poly.

I just got this email from Disney Visa this evening:confused3 and it's been out a week. Nice:laughing: Typical:headache:

Me too!

I got all excited when I saw the e-mail because I thought maybe it was a new one that included October dates. When I saw it was for August/September I was like this is old news! :sad2:

I think things are opening randomly depending on people canceling or switching. I wish I could be lucky enough to snag POR. :(

I just appiled and received my Visa card today, didn't have time to read the whole thread, sorry. I am booked for 12/5-13. Is there a discount for this time using the Visa card?

The email I got from Disney Visa this morning. I got a vacation package at the WL Club level 9-27-10-1 for $2062 4 nights 5 day park hoppers & DDP. Not sure how much the room rate was.

Is this new?? I just happened to see this on Mousesavers and called to see if I could apply to my existing reservation. I was able to modify my general public discount from last month to this new code and saved $45 :cool1: I had originally booked POR with AAA, then switched to the general public code last month for $109 plus taxes....this new code got me POR at $99 plus taxes. :woohoo:

From Mousesavers:
Disney Rewards® Visa® Late Summer Room-Only Discount

Sample rates:

Value resort: $64 plus tax Standard view

Disney Visa FINALLY got around to sending me the email tonight. I guess they only notify part of their consumers at a time....I sure am glad that I am not completely dependent on them to let me know about the discount I am entitled to by carrying their card, or I'd likely miss any rooms that are supposed to be up for grabs by their card holders:scared1:

Discounts for Nov and Dec won't be out about mid Aug or just before, probably sometime after the 10th of Aug. I got this discount tonight in my email. Great, but I'm waiting for the Nov discounts. So, does anyone know, if I book a room/ticket package now, will I be able to just apply the discount to my already held ressie, or will they have to cancel my ressie and try to make a new one? I'm hoping they can just apply being that it would be the same type of ressie - a room/ticket to a room/ticket with discount. Will it still be limited even though I have a ressie already?

Does anyone know when Mousesavers had this info and released it compared to when the disney visa emails started going out? Did mousesavers send out an update to their monthly email with the sale info like they do sometimes? Maybe I missed it or deleted without noticing it? Hopefully I will get the Aug email I'm waiting for with Nov discounts right away, but if not hopefully mousesavers will be right on top of it, as well as this awesome Disboard!!

Also, what does anyone think about the discounts coming for Nov and Dec - do you think they will actually be for all days, such as last yr they were for 9/30 - 12/23 as noted at mousesavers (out on 8/13 for d.visa holders booked by 9/26) and for 10/21 - 12/23, (out on 9/27 for d.visa booked by 10/20). I know that I didn't word that very well, sorry! :goodvibes But, do you know what I mean? Last yr's discounts for that time seemed to be in bigger blocks of days/weeks, not a week here and there. The lastest d.visa code is not for all dates in that time and I'm hoping they don't block dates in Nov, particularly 11/14-11/23! Sorry to babble tonight, guess it's time for bed! ;)

I had originally booked my room only reservation with a AAA discount. I was able to modify the resrevation when the better discounts came along (general public discount first then this D Visa code) I did not have to cancel and then rebook my reservation.

Mousesavers released this discount info on 7/17. It was not in their email that goes out on the 15th of each month. The D Visa emails just came this week....a week after Mousesavers posted it. I would not rely on D Visa to notify you of any discounts available. Check Mousesavers daily.....when discounts are released, the info is on the home page in red. I just happened to be on Mousesavers looking for something else and saw this discount posted. Glad I did because I was able to save some $$$.

I have no idea what to expect for discounts for fall/winter. I'm hoping something comes along since DH and I would like to plan a quick getaway for his 40th birthday in early December. The discounts and dates that are offered depend on how many rooms are still available. they will offer discounts to try and fill those rooms. If a lot of the rooms are booked, then there's no need to offer any discount rates KWIM?

:sad2: I got my email from D Visa the other day. Of course its the only email I've ever received from them informing of any discounts too and it's a week late. Really glad I wasn't depending on them to keep my notified of any discounts:headache:

I still haven't received the email. Chase must have the slowest email system on record.:confused3

I did call, but we have two rooms at POR for 8/10 - 8/22. I figured it was worth a try, but it was highly unlikely. Just as I suspected there was no availability.

Just wanted to say that I was able to get the 99$ rate at POR, CS, and CBR for Sept. 27th...I really wanted to add a night to our existing bounceback ressie but POFQ is booked solid for that night so we decided to check out CS!!

Does anyone know if the Disney Visa or the AP is a better deal?

I think the DV is slightly better actually. Too bad no one can get it!
I REALLY want to move up to a mod, but nothing is available.

BTW, I still haven't received the email.:sad2:

Thanks, cepmom! :thumbsup2

Okay, so I booked tonight using my AAA card. I wanted to book a room/tickets package just so that when the discount came out, I'd have a ressie already that I could just apply the code to then. But, using AAA I can only book room only, so I did that and bought tickets on the side, with a ticket price increase probably coming in Aug, which my CM reminded me of. Anyway, now I'm wondering what to do when the discount I want is actually released. Hopefully I then won't have to cancel and rebook, but do they then make my ressie into a room/tickets package with that discount? Then what do they do with the tickets I bought?

So, this last disney visa was released on Mousesavers on 7/17. You could use it then immediately, right, or did you have to wait? What's my best way of finding out that the discounts have been released for Nov at the earliest possible time? I know I can check here everyday, :goodvibes and at Mousesavers daily, also. What about calling and asking the customer service # on my disney visa, anyone done that? Also, does anyone know how early this info was discussed or released on these disboards in relation to when it was released on 7/17 on mousesavers? Hopefully if I stay right on top of this, I'll have a great chance of finding what I want, a discount on a room at CBR!

One more thing! Does anyone know which discount is better - the disney visa package code or the package code released to the general public? Or are they about the same. Last Aug I received a postcard with a pin on it in Aug and didn't use it til mid Sep and had no problem getting a room at CBR. Was that a general public thing? I always thought it was, it had the same dates but had a pin on it. It was a pretty good discount, saving about 600 - 700 at CBR for my 9 night/ 10 day stay so I hope this year's is as good!

Thanks!
