Hi Everyone:

Does anyone know whether Canadians can join the Disney Visa Card discount program?

Thanks,

Deb.

Unfortunately Canadians cannot apply for a Disney Visa, as you must have a US social security number.
Hopefully they'll come up with something for Canadians soon!

You must also have a US Address!LOL

I have the SS # but due to the fact that I could not provide a US address, they refused!LOL

Hey it was worth a try!

I want my Disney Vacation Club Back!

Sorry Scratch........I forgot your previous posts.......didn't mean to rub salt into the wound ;)

I agree - bring back Disney Club!!

How about a Disney Club just for Canadians?

Am really tired of hearing of the offers for the Disney Visa. :(

I miss the Disney Club too! :( I'd rather have DC than Disney Visa... I have too many reward credit cards as it is.

Actually, I read over on the Resorts Board that Disney Visa or Bank One was offering a special deal for their new customers only. Existing customers weren't eligible for the deal which had lots of people angry. Maybe they'll move Disney Visa to Canada once they improve the service

Bank One here in Canada keeps phoning me and offering me a "MasterCard"

I keep telling them, "Switch to VISA, and Make it a "Disney Visa" then we'll talk!"LOL

Bank One in Canada and Bank One in the US are not related companies, so Bank One will not be offering a Disney Visa in the US.

Who knows maybe they will market with a Canadian Bank, but personally I would rather have something like the DC instead of a rewards visa. I already have a rewards visa and would prefer to keep it that way! One visa is dangerous enough.

i emailed disney about that i am feeling left out because i am not able to apply the disney visa because i am not US citizen, this is what they replied:
hank you for your correspondence regarding the geographic limitations of Disney's Visa?Credit Card from Bank One. We appreciate that you have taken the time to inquire about this situation.

Bank One is not chartered to do business outside the United States and its territories and therefore cannot legally accept a credit card application from a non-U.S. resident. Because a Country or a
province must charter banks in order to do business with its residents, Bank One cannot violate
these laws by accepting the residents' applications. Disney is considering developing an alliance
with banks in Canada and the UK and possibly other countries, but must find a bank that is an
appropriate partner and is willing to develop a card with a value proposition comparable to what we
have in the U.S. This is a time consuming process and it will be a while before we are ready to
announce such a partnership.

We appreciate your interest in Disney. Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Well, they are certainly not the same company, but BankOne Canada and the BankOne that offers US credit cards (technically First USA Bank) are both subsidiaries of BankOne. The Canadian entity began as a merger of the First Chicago and National Bank of Detroit Canadian subsidiaries, while the main US credit card issuer was a subsidiary of the Ohio based original BankOne. Now at some point, all of the mergers of the last decade will be digested and there will be some sort of uiniform global offering (tailored to local tastes, laws and needs of course), but for now, I believe BankOne Canada can only offer MasterCard.

Ooh, that was long and boring, wasn't it? Hmm, sorry about that; I am an international banking analyst by trade, and just couldn't help myself.

Anyhow, if you really want to, you could always get a PO Box in Detroit, Plattsburg, Bellevue, International Falls, St Albans, Fort Kent or wherever, I suppose, and have your own Disney Visa card. Nah!

NOT!LOL

How much time do they need! They knew they were getting rid of the DC. There are plenty of Canadian Banking Institutions that already deal with the USA!

Hurry Up! Please!
