So any purchases between July and December over $650 for the month are supposed to be double dollars, as long as they fall into any of the major categories. Has anyone actually received a bonus dollar yet? I've spent $1000 or more a month on my card and have only gotten the dollars that I would normally get per $100 spent. And when I look at my statement, half of the items are classified as Other even though they're quite clearly grocery stores and such. Anyone else notice this?

Also, does anyone else get annoyed that the website doesn't have just a regular STATEMENT available on it, just transaction summaries, so you have to add them by hand?

My offer said I had to spend over $2200 per month, or something like that! It must be based on what you usually charge. I've been putting everything possible on it. I haven't seen any extra either.

This is the offer listed on the Disney Visa website.

It's easy to double your Disney
magic.

Just spend over $650 or more with your Disney's Visa® Card on the spending categories listed below in any calendar month from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2005.1 Once you reach $650 in a calendar month, you’ll earn 2% in Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM for every additional dollar you spend over on:

Everyday purchases: groceries, drugstores, gas, dining, dry cleaning

Monthly expenses: utilities, cell phone, home improvements

Entertainment: movies/refreshments, video rentals

If you're already building up Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM, now is a great time to check on your Reward Account balance by calling the phone number on the back of your Disney's Visa® Card or going to bankone.com/disney.

1The bonus rewards offer only applies to purchases made with your Disney's Visa® Credit Card each calendar month from July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005, and classified by VISA as dining, groceries, gas, utilities, dry cleaning, wireless services, drug stores, home improvement, movies/refreshments, and video rentals. Bonus rewards are not earned on balance transfers, Convenience Checks, cash advances, fees, including fees for products that protect or insure the balance of the account, or other finance charges. The maximum reward accumulation during this promotional period is 100 bonus Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM per calendar month. Your credit card account must be open and not in default to receive the bonus rewards at the time the rewards are posted. The bonus rewards will be reflected on your monthly credit card statement approximately 8 - 10 weeks following the last calendar day of the month in which they were earned. This bonus rewards offer is non-transferable.

I called Visa on it because mine was not showing up either and they said it takes 2-3 months for the double reward dollars to be in your account.

Even so, anything from July is now past the three month mark of the last calendar day. My chain feels yanked.

I got 4 bonus dollars on my statement that closed Oct 10 for my July purchases. I did call Bank One about the "other" listing for my grocery store, and was assured that they knew it was a grocery store and did count it as one. I'm waiting to see tomorrow what bonus points I will get for August.

The amount YOU see under offers is personalize to YOU. My offer is over $2300. There is no way I would ever charge that and most if not all my purchases from Walmart, Grocery Stores, Gas Stations etc are all classified as Other.

I thought mine was over $2000! I was starting to think I was imagining things. My grocery store is also listed as other. I don't understand why it matters what you are charging, anyway, as long as you are charging.

I think the reason is because they want people to get in the habit of using for "everyday" purchases. They make money just by you using it even if you never pay interest. The more you use it the more they make.

We, too, had one of the very high amounts to meet first before qualifying. So far we've gotten 1 bonus dollar.

Same here....I have called three times and asked. One guy told me "other" purchases didn't count. The next CS said it didn't matter. She also said I was just getting my regular rewards now and should see them with a 2 month delay. It's been 4 now right??? July 1 was when they started. I think it's a very bad way to do business. We have a TRU card that gets 4% with a TRU purchase and it shows up on the next stmt. I'm sure they could be doing it the same way.

We're finally starting to see bonus dollars from July and August. A CM at the DS told me that park passes would qualify under entertainment and I foolishly took her word for it. Called Visa and they said only video rentals, movie passes, etc. Wish I had charged my APs to my miles card now! I only use the Disney Visa for the approved categories now-- better to get miles.

I have read that the Citi Bank Platinum card is the best one for those of us who pay our bills in full each month and want to earn rewards. I think the only caveat is that you only get a check for what you earned once a year but that is not a big one for me. The good side is that you can spend those dollars any old way you want.

Maybe someone out there who has a Citi Bank Patinum (I do but have not checked into the rewards program yet) could give some details and tell if they like it.

If enough people stop charging with their Disney Rewards card or whatever they will be forced to do business better or fail. IMHO

Who did enjoy using the rewards I have earned so far but would love to earn even more, especially if I have earned them.

I'm one of the lucky ones: I have to spend $150 on the qualified purchases. Since the only place I really use my card is the grocery store, I know that my bonus points (so far, about 5, don't remember exactly how many) have shown up on my statements. So I know that they are counting my "other" catergories correctly. I've already got $30 saved.

I didn't get the offer at all, regardless of how much I spent.

Missy, I only have to spend $150 also. Not sure what they used for criteria. Might be the fact that I did not used to charge much of anything unless I needed an extended warranty or it had moving parts and I wanted to be sure of having recourse if something went wrong.

Sure has changed my life as I now charge everything I can. Is much easier writing fewer checks nowadays. I still pay the bill in full each month though. Is not free money if you owe interest IMHO.

How did you guys hear about this offer? I've been a member since day one and didn't hear anything about it. Are you automatically enrolled if you're a cardmember or do you have to go to the website and enroll?????

I got a postcard, actually a few of them and have read that others did as well. I hope you get one, if you want one.

Postcards were sent out for accounts that qualified and they listed the amount that you would have to purchase to get teh extra. DH has to spend the $2500 per month before it doubles and my card rec'd no offer. It really isn't a great benefit for any one who has this high of a limit--really how much can I spend on groceries, utilities, entertainment, etc. and still pay the card off every month. In addition since it is only purchases in certain catagories, you have to spend the $2500 in those areas and then any purchases in those areas above the $2500 qualify for double--I'll be lucky to see $5.00 bonus dollars by the end of the promotion! Another way to check if you have the offer is to log onto the account on line and check under other offers--if you've been "chosen" it will list your stipulations there.

I got a citibank card in august after tiring of Disney's many limitations on the extra rewards. I have already gotten two citibank reward checks, one for $60 and one for $80. It is 5% on gas, groceries, and drugstores, with a limit of $300 rewards in a calendar year. So we only use it for the 5% back categories, and use our other reward cards for purchases that would only earn 1% back, because I know I will spend over $6000 a year on gas, groceries, and drugstores.

You can request a reward check anytime you have at least $50 on account.
