Disney Visa Bonus Dollars

You can also go to the bankone website and check under offers. You have to be registered to access info online but once you do you can access your account balance, pay your bill online, and check for any special offers that might be available.

georgina, thank you for the information. It is good to know. Knowledge is power and the Internet is making us all more powerful.

i too received an offer for bonus dollars over $150 in ceratin categories. one month i spent over $6000 dollars including $1500 at disneyworld itself and received only 6 bonus dollars for all my purchases. what a joke. i no longer use this credit card.

donaldtutter, I have been keeping a graph to show how much I charged and am checking to see if the bonus points are showing up. Giving it two more months to make sure and if my experience is the same as yours I will be going Citibank.

I keep my promises and expect others to do likewise.

I called on this earlier today. I received bonus rewards ($2 -- big whoop!) on my September statement but nothing for October or November. When I asked the person on the phone to look into it he kept telling me the bonus rewards take 6-8 weeks to show up. I became very frustrated and explained to him I knew how to use a calendar and realized more than 8 weeks had passed. I pretty much said: "I want my bonus rewards, and I want them now!" So what did he do? He gave me $4 bonus dollars  and said he would ask that it be researched. Honestly, why bother even making the offer if they're not going to do it?

I don't know if I got a post card about this or not, but on my recent bill (($2958, ouch, we charge everything and pay it off monthly, usually not this much but we just moved, put electrician's charge on cc, also new brakes!!!) I received 30 reward dollars PLUS 17 'courtesy bonus" reward dollars. YAY- we leave for WDW 12/8, bonus just bought lunch at Starlight Ray's!

They must have seen me kvetching, because I finally got some bonus dollars posted with this statement! :) :bounce:

I've been receiving my bonus pts. regularly, but one thing I noticed is that under the groceries catagory WalMart shows up as other even if all my purchases are grocery. Since I noticed that I started checking more closely and after spending $650 for an antenna at the lake (don't ask) I was sure it qualified under the catagories but when it came through on the bill it had a different listing, I called the card customer service number and found out that it depends on how the merchant catagorizes their listing. I did not get dbl. points but since I have the $150 requirement I have been racking up points regularly. One thing that I have not seen noted on this thread is that there is a maximum number of bonus points you may get during this period, I believe it is 100 and since I am approaching the limit I may switch to another rewards card.

Just curious, do you think that only those who pay in full received this promo? I thought that perhaps they were hoping to pick up the additional interest revenue in addition to the per use fees.

It is not fair but I received yet another postcard offering the double rewards for purchases over $150 a month. Is about the 6th I have gotten so far.

Cyndy, might I ask how you were able to ascertain that some purchases are not being doubly rewarded while others are? BTW, the small print on my latest card says that there is a hundred dollar limit, per calendar month.

We pay in full each month so maybe you have a point about who is getting the offer. I never really charged much before so this has changed my habits. Am thinking about switching to my Citibank card though as this Disney Rewards thing seems to be causing more stress and trouble than it is worth. I can put my cash from the Citibank card in an envelope and spend it easier than the Reward card anyway. Is a pain to dig it out and then have to sign so I only used it when eating at a sit down place. I had thought it would be so handy for the small purchases before.

SG/Linda, I had to check my listing again to be sure but the manage rewards site list the following:

Net rewards earned
Balance from last statement
Reward dollars earned from net purchases

This combined with a review of my transactions usually gives me a good summary....I must admit that I do not spend a lot of time on the tracking but since I like the perks I will continue to use it. I'll be enjoying my Mysticial Forest Massage at SSR using my Rewards and DVC discount. Pampering for free....priceless.

Seriously, I agree there are other probably rewards programs with less hassle and even more cash back options, I've checked Bankrate but using that card just makes me smile at the thought of another vacation....silly I know I have no explanation as to why I am so quick to abandon my more frugal side with this card, but I'm having fun and getting some perks so what the heck.

One other thing that I didn't mention here is that we use this card often for the cash discount at DVC resorts in Vero Beach and Hilton Head. It helps us have great vacations and keep our points for the parks.

No, it doesn't matter if you pay in full each month or not. I pay in full and haven't received that offer. I live in Hawaii so I figured my location was a factor.

I am a member since day #1 also and always pay my bill in full. I have NEVER received any special officers from Disney Visa for double rewards. I, too, have started using my Citi Platinum Card for groceries and gas for the 5% and am still using my Disney Visa for everything else. Only charged $289 on last statement on Citi on some groceries and gas (was still charging a lot on Disney Visa before 11/9 trip) and got almost $13 in rewards!!!! You can't beat that!! (Would have only been $3 on Disney Visa!!)

On my statement this month I got 5 reward dollars under courtesy adjustments. I figure they must be from the double dollars finally kicking in. Hopefully I get some more next month, because it seems like I should have got more than 5. I'm not complaining though, I already have 220 reward dollars for our trip in April. I, like a lot of others put everything on this card to earn dollars and pay it off each month.

Lorie, thanks for the info. I am going to check into that after the holidays. BTW, am I correct that you get a check once a year for your rewards with that plan?

Shelley, congrats on all the free bucks. Are only free if you pay in full each month and you are doing that. Are you going to do anything special with the found money or just use it toward what you already had planned?

SG/Linda

Could someone tell me how long it takes to get your first card and how do you use it?

Does it need to be activated or do I just use it when I get to Disney? Where can I use the card at Disney?

I ordered my first one on the 18 and it said it would ship on the 22nd.

Thanks Much!!

With the Citi Platunum card, you can request a check anytime your rewards are over $50. I do it online, and it comes right away. I opened my account in August and have gotten 2 checks so far.

Georgina, sounds like a winner to me. I will check it out. I have some expensive electronic gear to buy myself for Christmas.

I'm gonna keep letting it add up and just spend it on food or souveniers in Disney. Less pocket money we have to spend.

I called Citibank this morning and have been offered 5% cashback on all grocery, drug and gas purchases. I asked them about the Wal Mart purchases and they said no matter what I bought there it would all count toward the rewards. Sure looks like a better deal than the Disney card to me, especially if they give the rewards in a timely and understandable manner.

Thanks for all the info. I will stick the cash in an envelope and take it on our next trip,, will spend easier than the debit card IMO.

SG/Linda (who is always looking for a bargain)
