First post here!

Can anybody tell me what the actual advantages are to the Disney Visa?

I am leaving for my trip May 26th & need to know whether or not I should call & try to get one rushed here.

One of the "soccer Dads" told me they send you special discount codes for rooms rates that are as good as AP rates.

Also, Meal discounts at the park restaurants? or mechandise discounts in theme park or DD stores? These would all send me rushing to get this card.

The mailers they keep sending me mention getting discounts on things but don't really get into specifics, for some reason. Is it all hype?

Thank you all in advance for your expertise!

I know that they did offer room discounts that were similar to the AP discounts. The discounts were only good until 7/4/03 and no new ones have been released since. I have not heard of any food or merchandise discounts, but I am interested to hear if others know of any.

The advantage to me is that I charge everything on my card, pay it off in full every month, and now after a year, I have $400 free dollars to spend on my vacation. I still have two months to go, so even if I only get 20 more pioints in that time, that's 20 free dollars more to spend.

Also, I got a discount on the Segway Tour using my Disney Visa, down to $68 from $80.

My next planned trip to WDW will actually be a cruise in 2 years. If I continue to use my card the way I've been using it, I will have a nice chunk of free money to spend by then, over $1000.
