Disney Visa $50 Shipboard Credit

I booked with AllSeas also and got the same response. They do not agree with it and have tried to change it but it is out of their control. I feel no matter who we book with it should be applied but unfortunately it is not going to happen. I do however feel that I got a very good rate by choosing AllSeas above and beyond the $50. credit.

tiggergranny ~ I booked with All Seasons Travel also. I haven't gotten my Disney Visa yet so I can't call about the $50 shipboard credit until I do. Disney Visa is the one giving you the $50 so it doesn't make sense that All Seasons would really have anything to say about it. I'm confused.

Has anyone here booked with All Seasons and gotten the shipboard credit?

I wonder if we are talking about the same TA. Is All Seasons Travel the same as AllSeas?

I think we are all talking about the same agency. All Seasons Travel is their name and allseastravel is their website address. They are out of Jacksonville.

It must be a new thing with them. I got the $50 credit on our September 2003 cruise but they wouldn't give it to me for our March 2004 one. Strange!

I saw on the Diney Visa site today that they have a new code for shipboard credit that gives you $100. It won't apply for me because DU also does the group discount thing, but I wanted to let people know anyway. The code at booking is VFO.

To get that 100 shipboard credit- you have to sail a 7 day land and sea between 8/26 and 12/16, and it has to be booked between 4/1 and 5/15- so it has to be a new booking- too bad for me! :(

Now I am more confused about the Disney Visa credit. It sounds like if you book with Allsea's, you can't get it....has anyone booked with DU and received the credit?

How about booking with DCL originally and then moving the reservation to DU or Allsea's later?? Would it apply then since you started with DCL?

It doesn't seem right...the point is to grant a "perk" for having a Disney Visa and using it for Disney purchases. We are also losing out for booking prior to 12/31/04 for 2005 trips.

I also called Disney Visa and they said "yes" it would work as long as the travel agency used the right code when booking. Sounds like Disney Visa folks need to either get their story straight or start allowing the credits.

I don't think All Seasons holds up the credit, because last year when I booked the upcoming 7-31 cruise, Andi knew the code number right off the top of her head. However, the sailing of this cruise was beyond the dates outlined in DV offer. FWIW, I've never been able to take advantage of any travel offer extended by DV for one date reason or another.

When we cruised in Sept., DU was offering an onboard credit and told us that it could not be combined with the Visa credit. However, we booked our upcoming 4 night cruise while onboard and received a $50 onboard credit. I assumed that it could not be combined with the Visa credit. Today I called to find out after reading this thread, and I was told that I have $100 onboard credit.

The way it has been explained to me is this.....

Shipboard credit promotions such as the Disney Visa promotion carry fine print that controls their combinability with certain other credits or discounts. It's all there in general terms in the fine print at the bottom of all of Disney's printed promotional materials.

When I booked with All Seasons, I received a significant price break resulting from a group discount. All Seasons has fought the combinability issue, but it is Disney that controls who gets the credit and who does not. Last year, in the early days of the Visa promotion, the shipboard credit apparently was combinable with the group discount. That is no longer the case. So, most bookings through All Seasons will not qualify for a shipboard credit resulting from the use of Disney Visa. You will still receive the deferred payment provisions and other benefits associated with the Disney Visa.

On my particular booking, the savings through All Seasons far outweighs the lost shipboard credit.

Hope that helps.

OK, this is going to sound dumb but...

I just got my Disney Visa. I already paid the cruise deposit with a different credit card. I thought I read that some people were having their deposits switched to their Disney Visa. How do you do this if it is already paid?

I know I probably won't be able to get the $50 shipboard credit with All Seasons, but I would like to earn as many reward points as possible before the cruise.

I used my Visa Card to book our June cruise. We used our points thru dvc. Can I get the $50 credit also? If I can who do I call and what code do I ask for? We could use all the help we can get since I had to have major surgery in Feb. 2003. Medical bills amounting to $18,000 puts a hurt on a budget. We have insurance but not everything is covered. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Dianna

I asked our TA (Small World Vacations) about the Disney Visa onboard credit as well. I have booked a cruise for August 2005 so I wouldn't qualify for the onboard credit (need to cruise by 12/31/04) this year, but if Disney Visa were to offer the same onboard credit for travel in 2005, Small World said they could credit my deposit on the card I already paid with and apply the deposit to the Disney Visa. I think you also need to pay the balance of the trip w/the Disney Visa but I could be wrong on that. I don't actually have a Disney Visa yet...I'm waiting to see what type of discounts they will be offering for 2005 than I can apply for it.
I did read on another thread that you do not qualify for the onboard credit through Disney Visa if you booked through All Seasons Travel :(

We made our deposit months ago for our land and sea package. Does anyone know if you can pay part of the balance with the disney visa and receive the onboard credit.

Any help would be appreciated

Belle's Castle--

The entire cost of the cruise must be paid with your Disney Visa in order for you to receive the onboard credit. This includes the deposit.
