Has anyone done this? I don't have a Disney Visa yet, but I plan to get one soon. I already booked my 10/04 cruise with All Seasons Travel. Is there anyway I can still get the $50 onboard credit?
Get $50 onboard credit* when you book a Disney Cruise Line vacation and sail by 12/31/04.**

*Offer valid with initial booking on most sail dates through 12/31/04. Other discounts do not apply. The onboard credit is per stateroom for each stateroom occupied by an adult Disney's Visa Card cardmember. Credit good toward merchandise, spa treatments, shore excursions and other onboard activities. Any unused portions are non-refundable and non-transferable. See Disney Cruise Line brochure for applicable terms and conditions. Be sure to ask for offer code "DCC."

I have done this. I booked my original deposit with Dreams Unlimited a year ago on my Am Ex. When this offer came out, I simply asked them to switch the deposit to my Disney Visa and it was done right away. The credit showed up on my Am Ex a week later. Very simple and I get $50 to spend!!

I got the $50 credit. Great way to start saving for the vacation.

I just received the credit. I had to get the code and tell the travel agent. Question, are you cruising on October 4th? We are going October 2nd for 7 nights. Are they doing the 3/4 day option that week? I didn't think they were.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to apply for a Disney Visa today and call my TA when I get it. :D

ncmouselover ~ I'm going on the 10/16/04 Disney Magic Eastern.

If you're a Disney stockholder, you can get a free watch along with your Disney Visa.

Anyway to confirm the credit will be on your stateroom account prior to taking the cruise?

Zandy-

Can you give us the link to that offer? I assume I can apply for the card there too.

Once the cruise is paid in full (with your Disney Visa) you can call DCL and ask them to verify that the credit has been applied to your account.

How do u get a free watch? My DS (5years old) is a stock holder. My DW and I gave it to him on his first Christmas.

I booked my 01/10/04 cruise in Disney Month which was May 2003. I received a $100.00 onboard credit, lanyards, pins and visors. Then switched the deposit to Disney Visa and got the additional $50.00 onboard credit. Don't forget to call ahead of your cruise to get your Disney Rewards card that has your points on it sent to you, it's separate from the CC.

Question....
I already paid DU our deposit. If I pay the remaining balance with our Disney Visa, do I get the onboard credit?? We have had the Disney Visa for months and I didn't know about this or I would have left our deposit on this card. PLease tell me it's not loo late!!

You got both onboard credit when booking plus the additional $50 using the Disney Visa. I booked our next cruise on board and got the 10% discount plus $200 on board credit. Paid the deposit with Disney Visa. Does that mean I will get an additional $50 on board credit when paid in full. I assumed from the way the offer read, I would only be eligible for one credit, not both. Anyone get both?

Hmmm...
I have been wondering about this...
I booked our cruise with DU using our Disney VISA. Our cruise is not until 2005, and the $50. credit offer ends as of Dec.'04.
If the credit is extended another year (like it was this year), what are the chances I will be able to get the credit applied to our account?
There was no way I was waiting to see if the code dates extended. I wanted to get early booking rates and our choice of rooms.
Any thoughts?

Thanks!
~Sue

I booked our Jan 2005 cruise through DU in Feb. and just discovered the $50.00 credit if using the Disney visa. According to my TA- I could have had the deposit put on my DV, but because my sailing is out of the time limit, the $50.00 shipboard credit would not be applied. SHe said however, if I wanted to, I could go ahead and do it, and sometime in the future if DV had another special offer, it could possibly be applied to my cabin IF the offer did not only apply to new bookings. Are you confused yet??

Thank you for this posting. We are using a travel agent that knows nothing about Disney, and after reading thses posts, i called him and he took care of it. We now have $50 -to spend on board!

I just applied for the Disney Visa card this weekend. I would like some clarification on some of the things discussed on this thread:

1. I understand that the $50 onboard credit applies only to cruises taken by 12/31/04. We are cruising in February 2005. What do you think the chances are of the shipboard credit being extended into 2005?

2. I am a proud Disney stockholder (39 shares!). I joke that those shares are going to fund my retirement! :p MrsPete - how do you get a free watch? One of my kids would love to have one! Since I already applied for the card, do you think it is too late to get the watch?

Thanks for your help.

I just call DCL to check and see if the $50 stateroom credit had been applied to our cruise and it had. I called my TA about a week or so ago to ask her but she never called me back either way:rolleyes: so I just called directly and they said it had been applied. Every little bit helps!!:D

I am so mad!!!!
I booked with Allseas Travel and used my Disney Visa for the deposit and the remaining balance, paid in full. They now tell me there will be NO shipboard credit of $50.00 because Allseas buys "Group rate discounts" and the prices are so low, they don't get any on board credits.
I thought this was a Disney Visa "Thing", but they said no, called DCL and they said no--called Disney Visa they told me YES, called Allseas back they still say no.
Do you have all that--by the way did I tell you I'm MAD!!!!
