Disney Visa 3x DDR

what if you have paperless statements? will you still get a postcard? the only mail i get from them at all is that flyer thing with news.

i got the mailer too, but all it said was that to get the promotion i had to spend $500 in eligible purchases. it did not give any details on what an eligible purchase was. does anyone know?

That's why I asked if specific categories were listed on the mailer. See exchange below:

My bonus rewards is only good on the following categories, not ALL categories:
Dining
Airlines
Gas
Groceries

Maggie

Did it detail your eligible categories right on the mailer, or did you have to check somewhere else for that info?

It clearly stated it on the mailer.

Maggie

Thanks for answering Maggie. :thumbsup2

So I would assume that if your mailer did not list specific categories for the promotion, your purchases can be from any category (other than the standard excluded stuff ie: cash advances, money orders, balance transfers, etc.) Of course you know what they say about making assumptions. ;)

Mine did not limit categories.

But, in the fine print it did show that the maximum reward was $60, spread over the three months is was good for.

LOL Thanks! I didnt even know the excluded stuff

I paid the balance on my Disney trip (about $2000) this morning. THEN, I get this postcard in the mail. I called Visa, and they said that paying off my vacation would count as an eligible purchase. So, I panicked and called Disney back to cancel my payment since it really wasn't due until 7/3. Disney said they would cancel it and put the refund in the works (but could take a while). I hope they don't cancel my entire reservation!!!!:scared1:

I just applied and was approved for the $200 Disney gift card promotion today :woohoo: I would love to get one of those promo deals too :yay: But either way, I am mega excited to get the $200 gift card  I am going to have my daughter apply too so she will have her own $200 gift card for out trip next April pixiedust:

I got the eligible purchases over $750 postcard. I called to check on what eligible purchases were and I was told it was anything, just not the cash advances, balance transfers, etc. I am going to charge the balance of my Disney vacation. We are going in September so I think if I charge it now the bonus points will post in time for our trip.

Hmmph. Mine was in four categories, $1000 threshold, and a maximum of $100. I won't have any trouble reaching that, because I put EVERYTHING on the Disney Visa. But it would be nice to have more categories, or a higher maximum!

I just got the mailer but I didn't even really look at it to see my limit. I got it for the last few months but the limit was $500 and I didn't reach it any month.

Beware of this program - check your earlier statements online for the categories! The category for all of my groceries shows up as "other" and doesn't count. The category for gas came in as "vehicle expense" and didn't count.

I've gotten the 5X DDR a few times in the past and even though my grocery charges showed as "other" on my online statement and gas charges showed as "vehicle expense" I still got the bonus rewards. I called Chase the first time I got the 5X DDR (and really paid attention to the categories) and the rep told me that they only use a limited number of categories on the statements (other, lodging, dining & entertainment, vehicle expense, services & merchandise, etc) but 'behind the scenes' the charges are categorized in more detail and the bonus rewards are awarded accordingly. I earned alot of DDR by taking advantage of the promotion.

I do think there is an issue with groceries if you purchase them at Walmart or Target since those merchants aren't considered grocery but discount establishments.

I got one too...$250 minimum, good on all purchases. great right?? Not so much....I just put DD's college tuition ($$$$$$$) on my Disney Visa LAST WEEK! It wasn't due until 7/2 either but I thought I'd be good and pay the bill early etc, etc. Now I wish I had waited! I could have made a ton of reward dollars with that charge

Mine is the same but it says 3x rewards up to 100 rewards.

I got the bonus last month.... and where we buy gas (Sheetz) is listed as vehicle expenses, and the market my husband shopped at while he was away for work (Publix) showed up as other. and Martins where I shop for groceries shows up as other, and it still counted. I kept track of everything, that is how I know those purchases counted or we would not have made the $500 threshold. Unfortunately we buy a lot of our groceries at Walmart, or the bonus rewards would've been higher if they counted!

Just chiming in that we got the offer with no specific categories (and we used to get these every quarter detailing groceries, gas, etc.). This one gave no categories whatsoever. I can't remember our threshold...maybe $500 or $750 but the kicker was the $100 limit. Don't get me wrong, we are thrilled to get the offer especially since it has been a long time since we have seen one of these. I am definitely glad not to be limited to groceries, etc. as well. It's just interesting as far as the wide variance of limits, categores, etc.

it's on a postcard? I've never gotten one of these......

DH got one in the mail yesterday. min. $250 with 3x's the rewards. We are using the credit card for everything and paying it off each month

got a postcard for 3x after 750 limit of 100. I do all my grocery shopping at target, so like some it doesn't count. I signed up, but know I wont ever reach it. This is the third time in a row i have gotton an offer, each time the limit is higher. Just an fyi i have had my card for 3 years and these are the first offers I have recieved.

My mailer stated a minimum of $500.00 per month
ONLY on groceries - where I shop doesn't take "credit cards"
gas never going to hit 500 there
airline tix- mine are already purchased for my upcoming trip- I used my D Visa, did they know that...
dining wont get to 500 there either

or with a combo of gas and dining
I only had the benefit of extra reward $$ once or twice and I'm a charter member. They used to do "all purchases" but gave that up a long time ago. AT LEAST FOR ME, FROM WHAT I'M READING

thats why I got another rewards card and will stop using the D Visa as much as I did before

I know we've had our card for at least 2 years and we have NEVER gotten one of the promotions.

We have not got one of these in YEARS. I did take out a new card in my name last year & put regular auto payments ($200/month) on it. We put EVERYTHING on 1st card & pay it off montlhy.

We do paperless statements & I NEVER get anything from chase. My aunt gave me a coupon she got in the mail w/her statement for $10/$50 or $50 off $250 for Lowes when using Disney Visa. I'm thinking I need to go back to paper STATEMENTS just to get stuff.....hate not to be "green" but I wonder how many offers I "miss" b/c of it.....
