Disney Visa- 2% or 1% Cash Back at BJ's?

I have a Premier card.. just wondering if BJ's is considered a grocery store or not. And does it matter what you purchase? Thanks!

I don't know specifically about the premier card, but it has not been considered a grocery store by any of my reward cards.

I would expect BJ's is categorized by Chase as "Wholesale Clubs and Discount Stores" and therefore earn 1%. It does not matter what you purchase, it's how Chase has that particular store location categorized. For example, my local WalMart is also categorized as wholesale club/discount store and earns 1%; the WalMart near my sister is classified as grocery store. I'm not sure how Chase makes the determination of those classifications, but it's obviously not by chain and rather by location.

Great question! I have both cards and I have recently started trying to use my platinum for gas/grocery/restaurant and my regular for everything else. I had been using only my platinum but I still had rewards on the other that were under $10 so trying to boost that up so I can make the transfer while not losing my 2% from the chosen places. Last night I got gas at BJ's so I used my 2% card then went in to get a few things and couldn't decide which card to use.

If you've had your card since at least last year, you can check your year-end summary to see how the stores you frequent are categorized.

Thank-you! Just checked my Platinum year end and BJ Fuel sure enough came up as Gas Station but BJs Wholesale came up as Wholesale Club & Discount Store.
