Disney Villians!

I was just talking to another Diser about some of the most hated Villians in Disney history and the general consensus was:


Cruella de Ville!!

Now, why on earth would you want to hurt such cute, innocent puppies just to make a coat!!

I don't get it!

Who do you think is a hated Villian??

hmmmm. Cruella deVille is a good choice, that's for sure. But for me, Hades came to mind as one of the worst.

How you view the 'worst' villain says a lot about you. Most Disney Villains have a flaw in their character that speaks to a moral.
Wicked Queen = Vanity
Gov. Ratcliffe = Greed
Ursula = Thirst for Power
Gaston = Pride

Personally, I find Frollo from Hunchback to be reprehensible. Not only for what he does to Quasi and what he wishes he could do to Esmeralda; but for his abuse of his position as a 'trusted man of G~d'.

I find Maleficent to be pretty much pure evil though. She had nothing to loose if Aurora would have been raised without the curse.

I find that Lady Tremaine (Cinderella) to be the most endearing. She is just trying to get a better life for her unfortunate looking daughters.

I think Yzma would be the funnest villain to have a dinner date with, though.

Worst villian- Malificent for cursing a little baby!

My favorite- Yzma, because she is just so funny and what was that saying when they all tried to describe her? "Hideous beyond all reason"?
I love that movie!

I second that! I can't stand Tinkerbell. Cruella DeVil is ok. I think my choice for villan is Ursula. She is not my favorite villian, but Gantu from Lilo&Stitch is my favorite.

Ah, but she's a redeemed villain, so that's ok.
She did try to reform after she realized what she did was wrong. Almost killed herself in the process, which earned her brownie points, I'm sure.

Wow, I'm glad you brought this up! It's easy for me to say Maleficient as the worst because she's the embodiment of evil, but in terms of cruelty and injustice, I think Frollo is so much worse than her in some ways. He was ready to burn an innocent family to further his obsession, and his hypocrisy, abuse of authority, and emotional abuse of Quasimodo put him near the top of my list. If he wasn't scared about going to hell after death, he would still think he's an angel and blameless for his own sins.

I think Yzma is hilarious. I often quote the "Why do we even HAVE that lever?" line when I can make it fit a situation.

And Cruella's definitely up on the list for wanting to kill puppies. 'Nuff said.

I would probably have to agree that Cruella was the worst, all that effort and hate of little pups, just for a coat?
PETA would have just come round and dumped red paint on her anyway.

DH and I both came up with Curella and Lotso as our worst Disney villains.


I have to say DH has a thing for the villains - he likes Malificient, I think its the whole turning into a dragon thing.

Melificent was my first thought. Really, though, I think Frollo is scariest because he's such a realistic depection of evil things that have actually happened in the world. A sorcerer or evil witch I can kind of discount or keep in the realm of faerytales, not quite so creepy.

And I love Yzma, too. Emporer's New Groove isn't one of my favorites, but it's got some really funny lines.
