If we weren’t bringing our 4 year old, I think we would be totally sold on the Villains. I currently have EMM booked. However, with some of the reports of 7DMT being down during the majority of the morning, I’m a bit more undecided. Is villains really fun?

Our daughter CAN stay up late and has done it before. She’s more of night time person anyway, so I was thinking of just moving up our breakfast reservation and do the Villains instead. Anyone bring their younger child? She loves the villains anyway - So this would be right up her alley.

You 100% know your family far better than any poster here.
We are early am people, so being on time for emm isn't even a consideration, it's simple for us. If 7d was "down" you'd probably get some kind of compensation, search for reports - like fastpasses, OR, using your emm bracelet as an anytime for 7d. But, the ride going down is just (bad) luck of the draw. When we did an emm at Hollyweird one time, SDD was down for most of the time. We only got to ride it like 3 times. SO, we were given 2 anytime FP for any ride in DHS, and 50% money refund, by Guest Services a few weeks later. I thought that was a very fair offer. Some others were allowed to use their emm bracelet for sdd until noon.

As for Villains, if your 4 yr old can do late, AND it would be right up her alley, I think I'd go for it. I'd definitely plan a very easy, sleep in am the day of, and the day after. I might also think about allowing a special Disney treat of something like iced tea at some point before the event.

Two very different value propositions in my book.

Mine are currently 5 and 9 and we've done these types of events at various times over the years. For us, a 10pm-1am event would have been too much with ours at 4. We could get some mileage out of it, but likely not the full time.

We've done plenty of MNSSHPs where we let them stay up late (with a big nap during the day and no plans the next day) but I can always tell by "the look" when we get in that 11-12am range that the day is pretty much done. 1am would be too much for us.

But obviously every family is different.

She has stayed up that late before. Just 1 am is pretty late 😂.

I am debating it though as it’s easier for us to get her to stay up late than it is for her to wake up early. I have some time to think though as our trip isn’t until July.
