Disney Village Restaurants 20% Discount Card

20% would be taken off your bill. Not sure how it would work with half board, sorry.:)

It doesn't make it clear ( as it's translated from french ) but seems to imply that it can't be used with any other promotion.

As the half board vouchers would sometimes cover the cost of your meal they wouldn't be giving you any cash back in your hand if that was the case so i would think not.

I could be wrong but thats what i think, so you have to way up if the 20% would be a better discount than buying half board vouchers.

I guess it would depend on a couple of things.

If you only wanted to spend the value of your half board vouchers, then thats a set menu in Annettes, so you'd have to tell your waiter when you were seated that you had the vouchers.

As you're not actually paying anything extra towards your meal, that would mean the 20% discount wouldn't be applicable.

But, if you want to order from the normal menu at, say, Annettes (just keeping it to the same restaurant for comparison purposes), then you would tell the waiter when you ask for the bill that you have the 20% discount card. He takes 20% off the total bill, which you then pay with a combination of your half board vouchers and any extra to pay in cash/credit card etc.

This would only work though, if you are sure you'll be finished your meal and have asked for the bill before 6pm.

If you order before 6pm, but won't be finished your meal until after then, you'd have to tell your waiter you had the 20% discount card when you order. As long as they are aware you have it, they should still take the discount off your bill.

We don't tend to have our main meal until after the parks have closed, and so the half board meal vouchers for us would be more advantageous than 20% off up to 6pm only (we were being lazy on the one day we did use them in June).

Im glad some others can make use of this too :goodvibes I'll be going soon so when i get back i'll let you know how i got on. I dont have an AP or half board though so i dont know about that.

I'm thinking the same!

We just called and ordered our HB vouchers so we will stick with that since we normally eat after after 19.00, but the 20% off coupons are a good option if we feel hungry in the afternoon, too! :D

I don't see the half board vouchers as a promotion though, they are just another bit of your package that you add on, as you like.

So I can't see a reason why the 20% off discount card couldn't be used with half board face-value.

The half board vouchers face-value can certainly be used with AP restaurant discount.

I think the reason this promotion is on between 12pm - 6pm is to actually get people into the Village restaurants at a time when they are pretty quiet.

There's no problem collecting the cards from any of the restaurants in Disney Village ~ just call in and ask for one.

I've got two that haven't been finished if anyone would like them.

The first one has Rainforest Cafe, The Steakhouse, King Ludwig's Castle, Annette's Diner, Planet Hollywood and Golf Disneyland left on it.

The second one (that was kindly passed on by another DISer) has Rainforest Cafe, King Ludwig's Castle, Planet Hollywood and Golf Disneyland left on it.

Please send me a PM if you would like one and I will post it out although as I said there is no problem popping into a restaurant and asking for them. Last year they were restricted to AP holders and shareholders but this year they are for anyone. I think the reason they aren't advertised on the UK site is purely marketing ~ a bit like Germany isn't being offered the free night offers (sorry for bringing this up, Marcus).

We had no problem using it at the Sunday Brunch at the Steakhouse. Both this year and last year the CMs at any of the restaurants haven't been interested in seeing the card until we paid the bill but if I was going to be seated close to 6pm then I think I would wave it in their direction ~ just so there's no confusion later.

thanks for the offer of posting them out Elaine but if we can get them when we get our AP's or from any of the restaurants then we should save you the postage.

We'll just be brave and ask for the 20% discovery discount card:)

Looks like we'll be there the same time in September people if our tickers are right, where are you staying? me and my gf are at the Holiday Inn

Of to to do my SDD now :cool1:

Anyone interested?

The discount was valid before 6pm. You received the voucher for Rainforest with the bill

Remember folks that this promotion expires in the end of September so take Elaine up on her off or pick up yourself quickly :thumbsup2

That's great news :thumbsup2 . I wondered if you could use it for 'special events' like this. I'll be booking for our next trip then :thumbsup2

I just got back on Friday night and we had a meal booked at Cafe Mickey on Thurs night at 5.30pm. I asked to get the card for this 20% discount and the waiter didnt have a clue what i meant even though I explained it all, so he went and got a manager and he pretended he didnt have a clue either then said I wasnt allowed one as its only for anual passport holders but I know thats not true! And I said its on their website. So I didnt get it. To be honest though we had really bad service in Cafe Mickey this time which was dissapointing because last year was fantastic. I'm thinking about complaining because there were a few things about it that wasnt very good including that with the discount. I'm sure he really knew.

Actually this is the case. It says on the ticket about annual passport holders.
Now others may have received the ticket. But they were lucky, rather than had a right to this bonus :)

As a non-annual passport holder that is travelling to Disney on Saturday I am not entitled to this discount?

EDIT: The offer on the web-site makes no mention of passport holders only? - http://translate.google.com/transla...offres/index.xhtml&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&sl=fr&tl=en
On the reverse side of the ticket image that you have shown states about annual passport. Others have stated that they managed to get a discount. You may be similary lucky. But best to go not thinking you will get the discount and then anything else is a bonus :thumbsup2

Reid - we plan on buying Dream APs - will we be given the discount card with our APs? As it happens we'll only be able to use it for 2 days before it expires but even then it's worth it :)

Thanks :thumbsup2

PS - Ashleigh - hope you had a lovely trip - doesn't seem 2 mins since you were going :(

Patsy if you don't get the discount card when your are at the Annual Pass office, ask for one. When I bought my passes, the lady there was very helpful, and explained everything she was putting in my annual pass folder, so I knew each thing that was in there. Hopefully you will get a similar service, so you'll know right away if the discount voucher for the restaurants is/isn't there.
