Disney VHS worth hanging onto, sell, give away???

Since there never actually was a "filthy scene" any DVD will do, no need to dig up a VHS tape. You can use the Snopes link referenced in the post above this and watch to see what they were talking about.

One of my coworker's husband worked as an animator on The Lion King. Because of what happened with The Little Mermaid they were the most scrutinized group in animation history :rotfl2:

ahhh. but remember when Simba lays down and dust flys in the air "making words" :rotfl: I have always wondered who it is that watches these movies in slo-mo to try and "catch" Disney doing something evil??

Even when you look at the still frames it's a stretch. I had a friend many years ago who went to Albright College in Reading, PA. She said that if you went to a hill that overlooked the town at night you could see the letters S-E-X spelled out in the lights of the houses. As Snopes theorized the power of suggestion can help to fill in the blanks.

But as it turned out it didn't really matter if they made the film perfectly clean or slipped something in. Disney laid off her husband and his entire department shortly after the film was completed and the Pixar era began.

Funny, I tried to give ours away...we had some cool ones, some really cute and funny Sesame Streets and lots of Disney Sing Alongs...(I think I kept the Mulan one). I advertised on Facebook to all my friends with young children "FREE" and after two days, no one wanted them. I finally got a reply after I asked again and my cousin said, "Dude, nobody own a VHS anymore!" Hahaha! I ended up giving the entire box of videos to a man with two young children who came to buy a table from me. The little kid was so excited. So, I think they went to a good home. Good luck, but I don't think you'll sell them! Haha!

I didn't read through all the posts so I don't know if it was mentioned or not. We still have a bunch of our VHS and when the DVD/Blue ray combos come out and Disney offers a coupon ($10.00!) I have the UPC from the VHS I can enter to "upgrade" to the Blue ray disc. We did this with a couple of recent releases.

Funny thing about the VHS tapes - my kids completely destroy any VHS tape they get their hands on. I had to throw out the tapes and keep the boxes for the UPC's... can't believe VHS tapes lasted as long as they did around my nieces and nephews when they were little. DVD's hold less fascination for the preschool set I guess...

If you do think you are interested in upgrading your VHS to Blue Ray and assuming Disney continues to offer the upgrade coupons, you could always cut out the UPC's before you donate them.

Oh, yeah--didn't need to check Snopes, already knew it wasn't true. I just thought it was so funny when everyone kept saying it was. My bil that seems to have a beef with Disney would say "play it in slow motion and you will see the words", my answer? So don't play it in slow motion. :confused3 Why would anyone WANT to do that?

Of course, when everyone used to say that Ozzy Osbourne or KISS records were messages to Satan when played backwards, I said "so don't play them backwards" :rotfl: Never could figure out HOW to do that anyway.

People are just too funny sometimes with the stuff they believe.
