I am thinking of adding a couple of days to our vacation next summer and was thinking of Vero Beach Resort. I am looking for feedback for those who have stayed at Vero Beach.

Thanks

We visited Vero Beach this past June and it was wonderful!!! The resort is beautiful and they have activities going on all day long and some into the night. Just make sure that you check the activities list as soon as you check in and get signed up for the ones that you want to do. Some of them fill up fast. The pool and slide are great as is the beach area. We had a 1 bdroom and it was very nice and roomy. There is a mini golf course right beside the pool that is alot of fun. You can pay $5 per person and golf as much as you want for your entire stay. They just put a sticker on your room key with the number of people you paid for. Make sure that you always have your room key with you because you cannot get into the pool or onto or off the beach without it. They are both gated. If you happen to be there on a day that they do the campfire you need to do that!! It is alot of fun and you get to make smores!!!
We will definitely visit Vero again, every year if it is up to me!!!!!!

How is the beach area? The picture on the website looks rocky. Can you swim in the beach in front of the resort? Do they have lounge chairs on the beach?
Thanks for the input.

The beach is not rocky but it's not "sugar sand". It is also fairly narrow. You can swim right in front of the resort but be aware there are no lifeguards. There is a public beach a few yards north of the resort with a lifeguard. Chairs, as well as cabanas and umbrellas, are available for a daily rental fee.

I thought we were on the DVC board?! What is this board called then?

You are definitely on the DVC planning board right now.
Vero Beach resort is lovely for a few days. Great plan!

Was at Vero in June for the first time and it was wonderful. Very relaxing if you're doing an adult vacation and lots to do for kids. Sonya's and Shutters food was good and there are many good places to eat in the area.
The beach is narrow and the sand is nice. Swimming in the Ocean was great. I took my 16yr old and my senior parents 77 and 80 and they had a ball and can't wait to go next year. (Already booked a 1 bedroom :cool1: )

:cheer2:

The beach isn't rocky at all. Don't think in my 6 visits I have even seen a rock. :-). As a previous poster mentioned the beach can be narrow at high tide but the beach is Much much better now after the two hurricanes beieve it or not! The only complaint I receive about the beach is from my DS who say it is not a great skim boarding beach! O well can't have everything.

Honestly (of course IMHO) speaking the place is AWESOME!!! The CM's are the best of all Disney I think and there is much to do about nothing to do!

I am booking in February. We will have 2 small children (DD 2 years, D? 2 months) so we just want to find a place to chill out for ahwile.

Any advice on Studio vs a Room in the Inn? I don't care how close we are to the main buidling, dinning etc.

I have to agree with this. Every CM we met was super friendly and seemed to genuinely care about their job and the guests.

I like the inn room, ocean view the best. There are 2 Q beds, with the small kitchenette. I also like the convenience of being in the main building.

However, DH asked that our next visit be in a studio, so we can have the sofa to sit and watch the TV on. You do have a VCR in either the studio or the inn rooms. So, in March, we're trying a studio for our first time. We've done 2 visits in OV room and 1 in the Garden View room.

For sure the Inn room... same convieniences as a Studio but easier in the Inn itself.

I remember those days with young ones... have fun! :thumbsup2

Any issue with Noice in the Inn vs the Studio. Is the only difference location and Sleeper vs Queen.

I have had no issues with noise in the Inn. Others may want to comment here.

I think if your 2 year old ends up sleeping with you anyway ;) like mine did then the need to set up the sleep sofa daily would be eliminated and there would be more room for the pack and play. That might be a plus for the Studio. Location of restaurants and pool etc... lend itself to the Inn. If you get and OVIR then the view (IMHO) is better.

Outside of that... not many more differences.

Almost on the single digit dance.... CAN'T WAIT!!

I am trying to persuade my hubby to do a few days at Vero on our next trip.....but he is concerned that there is no golf there!!! Can anyone tell me what golf is available locally and also how long it would take to drive from Vero to Sawgrass in Fort Lauderdale?!!!

Also, have the one bedroomed units got an ocean view at all? Would love to see some pictures of the 1 beds.

love

Been there 5 or 6 times. Our favorite resort. We don't own there, but we call it home. You just can't go wrong. :beach:

We went for the first time in April and loved it so much that we just bought a 50 point add-on contract there! We have just sold our BCV because we decided the DVC resorts at WDW are not for us. So, we will probably buy another larger contract at Vero or at HHI ! Vero was sooooo relaxing! We never left the resort!
