Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

oh my gosh how scary that fall must have been. Glad no one got hurt.

I dont know how you contained yourself on KRR. I would have not been able to keep from chuckling. :rotfl:

It was VERY hard for us to contain ourselves from laughing! :rotfl:

I was just about to say that there is an animatronic yeti on EE, but I see some others have beaten me to it. I didn't see it my first ride either. It's never worked the times that I've been there the past 2 summers. :sad2:

That sure sounded like a ride on Kali that will be remembered for a long time.

great update!!!

I'm glad you guys got some snow! We're supposed to get more snow tomorrow, 3-5 inches which is a lot for Cincinnati (as I have been told!)

I love all the AK pics! You gotta love the barely there couple!

What happens on the monorail?!

I wish I could have seen the Yeti! :upsidedow

And yes, we will definitely always remember our 1st Kali ride experience! ;)

We had fun playing in the snow today. We ended up with 9" at our house. 1-2" is usually all we see, so it's been exciting!!!!
Hope you're having fun in the snow!

There was a couple behind us loading into our tube. As we got ready to load, she & her husband stripped off their clothes to revel their bathing suits underneath. He had on a speedo & she had on the teeniest, tiniest bikini about 2 sizes too small.

Was this dude about 60 years old and 280 lbs? If so, he was hanging around the Jamaica pool the week after. Very creepy.

Hi! I was glad to see a trip report link in your signature and cannot believe how beautiful your whole family is...wow! :wizard:

I'm with you on the worrying about frizzy hair in Disney, but your winning the battle :rotfl:,I was a poor loser against humidity, I need to note down the name of that product for my next trip!

I read through all your chapters tonight and looks like a great trip so far! some great photo's, I especially liked the viking hats in Norway photo and the sleeping in TestTrack pose!

Although bribery probably isn't in the good parent hand book I would have felt the same, the hats are funny and cute but maybe not the best endorsement to all your beautifully planned outfits! but then your DH was prob right, at least the Disney spirit is flowing strong!:cutie:

I really loved your gold mickey necklace from your AK day, and all the customised outfits look meticulously lovely and very professional! can you tell I'm enjoying this trip report! popcorn::

Looking forward to reading more!

What a wild KRR ride! I don't think I'd have known how to react to that! :rotfl:

Your escalator stories made my heart skip for a second. I worry about someone falling everytime we're near one and avoid them as much as I can! Glad he didn't tumble all the way down! Amazing that your cousin showed up at such a perfect time when the twins were little, too! Someone was definitely looking out for you. I can imagine that moment of not knowing which to run after!

Looking forward to the rest of your day!

OMG That couple that rode KKR with you all sounds hilarious. Were they completely oblivious to the stares they were receiving? I would have died laughing. I would probably have done everything possible to try and sneak a picture of them. Sooo funny.

Lexi sounds much braver than me when it comes to EE. I don't think I had a good experience the first time I rode it , but I am willing to try it again on our next trip after forgoing it on our last 2 trips. ;)

There was a couple behind us loading into our tube. As we got ready to load, she & her husband stripped off their clothes to revel their bathing suits underneath. He had on a speedo & she had on the teeniest, tiniest bikini about 2 sizes too small. And, I’ll just say that she was very well blessed & everything was hanging out! She was now the one getting all the looks from everyone but they were not the same ones that I got. Brad & I couldn’t look at each other because we knew we would burst out laughing. There was another couple in the raft with us & that lady looked PO’d when bikini girl stripped down and it was hard for me not to laugh at that lady too. The whole thing was odd & it was so hard for us not to laugh. I wish I could’ve taken a picture of bikini girl & speedo man, but I don’t think there would have been a non-obvious way for me to take the picture.

On our trip in April we had an older couple do this same thing! We thought it was really weird...the kids giggles a little...my mom and I tried not to look...just seemed wrong!

I think you & the boys need to wear matching pj's!
I'll do the matching pj's with the boys when you get some zebra print shorts to match Lexi! ;)
I don't know why PW would have a 48" height requirement. That is crazy. I think a one year old would be fine on it .
It is crazy what they use to determine ride height sometimes! Many years ago we were at Carowinds and Jon (much smaller then) was able to ride Thunder Road (I think that was the name of the twin wooden coasters that raced each other). We went over a hill and since it only had the minimal lap bar that you held on to, he was down in the floor and scarily close to going out of the side of the ride when I grabbed his arm and really struggled to get him back in the seat beside me. Later in the day we got to another area of the park and Jon was wanting badly to ride in the bumper cars. We waited in line and got all the way to where you load and someone measured him and said he was too short??? He is fine to ride a coaster he almost falls out of, and not tall enough for bumper cars??? :confused3 Explain that one..... :sad2:
Lexi was scared & wanted to back out. She knew we wouldn’t let her. She had to ride it at least once & give it a try. The stand-by line wait said 20 minutes. Every ride has been a lot shorter that the est wait time. This time that ended up being VERY wrong & one of our longest waits while at WDW that week. The wait ended up being around 50 minutes .
I know you wouldn't want to do it for Lexi's first (nervous) ride, but we almost never ride EE any other way except single rider. Always much faster, but no guarantee any of you get to ride together. We get fastpasses at least once to request first or last seat, but otherwise we are fine taking whatever seat we get.
I always thought that a huge Yeti popped out during this ride. I didn’t know it was just a shadow. Since that’s what I had imagined in my head & was expecting, I was a little disappointed in the ride.
The first time we ever rode EE the Yeti was working as designed. It is right at the end of the ride and he is a really huge, animatronic figure that bent and reached down with one huge paw and it appears he is about to scoop up the train just before you drop under his grasp.

By the time we returned for our next trip the Yeti was broken. I heard that the weight and movements didn't work together so well and the Yeti pretty much cracked all the way around the middle. They had replaced the movements with the strobe lights to make it look like he was moving by that time, which was a sad interim measure that certainly didn't give the original effect.

This trip I just barely got any glimpse at all of the Yeti, even knowing he was there and where to look. It will take a major rehab to get him working again and I'm not sure when they could pull that one off without huge crowds of people skipping the park the whole time EE would be down.

Terrible, just terrible!!!
She was now the one getting all the looks from everyone but they were not the same ones that I got.
Good thing you had on that poncho over that white T-shirt or the looks may have been similar when you were all getting OFF the ride.....:rolleyes1

I think I would have failed in my attempts to suppress laughter.....

Oh come on, sometimes you just have to go that extra mile knowing you have a TR to write when you get home! And after the DISboards came through for you on the poncho thing...:sad2:
Levi & Lexi both fell asleep when we got on the bus to CR.

WDW2010253.jpg
Looks like they weren't the only ones..... :rotfl:
I just had to come out of lurkdom to say that I am a fellow South Carolinian. We have gotten 9in of snow today. My kids are just amazed at all the snow! It's so beautiful.

BTW, I'm really enjoying your trip report!:)
:woohoo: Another South Carolinian located nearby!!!! :welcome:

LOL-- I can only imagine the speedo man and his girlfriend! Hey, if it's hot, can't imagine a better way to cool down! Don't know why anyone would think that was appropriate, though!
I love the picture of the twins asleep on their daddy-- so precious!

Oh my gosh! The speedo/binkini couple! I'm not sure I could have prevented myself from laughing! :lmao: I would love to know what went through their heads when they started stripping down!

I was a ways behind!

Hooray on having a white Christmas! That had to be very exciting for everyone, except poor Levi. :sad2: I'm glad to hear he made a full recovery for the next snow - and that no one else in the house got it!

And this pic:

How do you look so darn good at 5:30 am?!?!? I look like I got run over with a truck! :lmao: Seriously, share your tips woman!

Looks like a fantastic Christmas was had by all. :goodvibes

Your KRR ride was UNFORGETTABLE!!!!! Wow. And I have to agree with Mary, thank you for NOT taking a pic. :rotfl:

Glad to hear Lexi made it through on EE. Did she ride the second time too? Did she like it even a little bit?

I'm glad to have you here! Thanks for all the compliments!

My Frizz eliminator works great here, but I don't think anything can help my hair at the beach or in Florida! It only looked great the 1st day at WDW, it was low humidity just that one day!

I know! Escalators have always terrified me with the kids. I thought they were old enough not to have to worry about them on them anymore, but apparently not!

OMG That couple that rode KKR with you all sounds hilarious. Were they completely oblivious to the stares they were receiving? I would have died laughing. I would probably have done everything possible to try and sneak a picture of them. Sooo funny.

I know, I let everyone down not getting a picture, ha ha! My camera being sealed away to keep from getting wet also made it a problem. I should have had Brad to snap a pic with his cell phone!!!

You will have to get on EE again. It will make a great picture of you & your 3 sisters!

On our trip in April we had an older couple do this same thing! We thought it was really weird...the kids giggles a little...my mom and I tried not to look...just seemed wrong!

You see everything at Disney!!! ha ha!

I'll do the matching pj's with the boys when you get some zebra print shorts to match Lexi! ;)

I've been looking for a pair, so you better be on the look-out for those jammies!

That is a great idea that we may have to do sometimes when they're a little older.

You're right, I bet a lot of people would skip AK if EE were down.

I thought about that too with my t-shirt once we were there, good thing I was prepared with the poncho!!!

I know, I know, I let everyone down on my TR not taking a pic of bikini girl! I'm learning on this TR. Next time, we'll use our cell phone so it will not be obvious!
