Disney Vacay with the Love Bugs (New 6/23 update ~ Chef Mickeys)

congrats to lexi and levi on their graduation! They are soooo cute. I love all your matching ensembles too. Both in and out of vacation! :cutie:

thanks, it's a sickness of mine that they need to coordinate

wow, you were over here fast this time, i'm impressed!

we have never done cm for anything other than breakfast. That oreo cookie mickey head dessert looks really good, and yes for a chocoholic like the two of us!!! :)

there are so many restaurants at wdw, that it's hard to try it all & keep your favorites.

love the picture of lexi with minnie mouse. The matching t-shirt and minnie ears look great together! :thumbsup2

thanks, i love that one too.

btw, just wanted to let you know new contest questions are up so you don't miss another round. ;)

i'm coming over!

hope you aren't having any problems from all these storms!!!

Can you believe this weather??? I keep waiting for a tree to fall on my house! And, it's pouring rain here right now.

It's soo sad your trip has come to an end! But it has been such a wonderful trip and a great TR!! You meal at CM looked like so much fun. I am definitely going to do CM one day in the future - I have never eaten there!

My sister was also contemplating different photo albums as well. She ended up buying one at Mousegears, and finding another one she liked better at the France Pavillion in Epcot, so she had to return the first one. She also bought a scrapbook which turned out really cute.

Yay for finding your memory cards! I always seem to misplace mine too. :confused3

I wonder what they were filming on the monorail? Maybe it's a commercial!

I too am hesitant about spending more money for MNSSHP at the parks after I've already paid for admission! Sigh. I guess I am not into Halloween as much as others. Maybe I'd do it for some of the X-mas events or Food and Wine events as those seem more interesting to me.

Aww, I'm sad that your trip report is winding down. But, at least you got to spend a great evening at Chef Mickey's and all of the characters. I loved spending time on the beaches at the Caribbean Beach Resort. It is so nice and relaxing.

Boooo another end of a trip! I can totally relate to being tight with $$$ but there are times when you just gotta try something once. MNSSHP is tons of fun and I'm sure Lexi and Levi would LOVE it. Maybe one day :goodvibes I bet they were filming either a commercial or maybe something to add to their vacation planning DVD? Bubba said she would see them filming this stuff all the time when she worked there.

I'm so sad that the trip is coming to an end! It's been a great journey though, and I have thoroughly enjoyed following along beginning with all the planning til now!!

I'm SO glad you found your camera case, and I know you were too!! :woohoo:

Ummmm...so sad to see it come to an end! It's funny how even reading a stranger's TR end is a little sad...

I do love those little oreo treats at CM, unfortunately the only thing really memorable about the food there. Not that it's "bad" per se, but just not really all that good either. We switched to the Garden Grill last trip for our character fix and liked it much better.

...and you had your camera bag all the time? That must've been both a relief and a major "D'oh!" moment.

Did you ever run into any lovebugs? With your TR title...I assumed they would be all over. We did late September back in 2007, and they were pretty present around the resort at the time.

With this TR wrapping up it begs the question....

....so when is your next trip?

SP

I was a bit behind...as usual...;)

Love this picture - what a great sport he is!

Photo0308FourBySix.jpg

We experienced the same low-crowds one time when we visited MK on a MNSSHP day, it was great! What a perfect day to end your trip!

I also enjoy the mickey mouse oreo cookies. I think they are adorable and feel the need to get them every trip.

I had a pedometer & do you know how many miles we walked this week? Everyday it was anywhere from 9.75 to 11.5 miles!!!!!!!!

And, that did not even count any walking we did around our resort.

I believe it! We have a couple of pedometers and I thought about taking them last year, but didn't. It's kind of funny -- we got 2 of them in Vienna on a PChef trip. Judy and I each wore them one day and at the end of the day mine read that I'd walked farther. We figured it'd be the other way around since her legs are shorter and she takes more steps. So the next day we switched pedometers, and at the end of the day they again read that I'd walked farther. :confused3

But yeah, you do tend to walk a fair bit at Disney. I might even have something to say about that soon over on my thread. :rolleyes1

What a great ending to your trip. We have done Chef Mickey's on our first day before, and also another time on our last day. It's great either way! This time it's right in the middle of our trip! You can't beat seeing all those characters without having to wait in a huge line! :thumbsup2

And yay for finding your camera bag! :cool1:

So when's the next trip? popcorn::

Great review of CMs - love all the pics with the characters. Lol at DH making Pluto seem short!

Mmm your dessert plate looks yummy!

We are having the same dilemma with MNSSHP - not sure if it is worth the extra bucks though everyone keeps telling me it is worth it!

Exploring CBR sounds like fun - I would love to just stay in one of them hammocks for a bit.

Wow at the amount of miles you walked - that sure is a lot! :cool1:

Oh.. done? NO! Tell me you are about to start a PTR... right? popcorn::

How funny about the camera bag!!!

I understand what you are saying about the extra $$ for the party. I have yet to purchase ticket for MVMCP.. and I probably will... but there is a part of me that wonders if I really should.

glad to see levis favorite is donald.
:thumbsup2
he has some good taste.

i love the chef mickey dinner, alot of people seem to shy away from it saying the food is not that good, but we always seem to enjoy it there.

i am also up in the air about the extra things at MK in the evening that you have to pay for...not sure if i would feel it is worth it, but would like to try them sometime when we go.

that is because you do so much pacing back and forth while the woman are using the restroom that you rack up the extra miles.
:thumbsup2

What a fun dinner at Chef Mickey's! :thumbsup2

I cannot WAIT to try those Mickey oreo things! I am definitely a chocoholic so those are right up my alley!

That's so cute that they were filming on the monorail! What lucky children! I wish you guys could have known what it was for though!

I totally understand about not going to MNSSHP. It is sooo expensive, and all the extra expenses make you feel guilty.

YAY YAY YAYYY for finding your camera bag!!! :woohoo:

I love just walking around and taking it all in on the last night. And it looks like Lexi and Levi had fun on the playground. :)

That's so cool that you could see Illuminations! :yay:

So sad that this is almost over. :(

I'm sad to see your TR coming to an end, I've really been enjoying it. Do you guys have another trip in the works?

Your last night sounds like a lot of fun, and I totally hear you on not knowing whether or not adding MNSSHP would be worth it for the money or not.

For what it's worth, i LOVE MNSSHP! its my favorite parade out of them all! and its really neat to see costumes/ characters that aren't typically out.

i'm so happy you foudn your memory cards:thumbsup2. i would have been heartbroken.

i'm pretty sure that they took those playgrounds out of the beaches. i know there wasn't one in Jamaica last month.

it's soo sad your trip has come to an end! But it has been such a wonderful trip and a great tr!! You meal at cm looked like so much fun. I am definitely going to do cm one day in the future - i have never eaten there!

i cannot believe that you have not made it to cm yet. You & chubbyhubby will have to try it out someday. Or, just wait a few more years & then take your future kids ;)

my sister was also contemplating different photo albums as well. She ended up buying one at mousegears, and finding another one she liked better at the france pavillion in epcot, so she had to return the first one. She also bought a scrapbook which turned out really cute.

did you take a picture of it to be included on your tr? I never looked at photo albums in the world showcase. I need to look there next trip.

i too am hesitant about spending more money for mnsshp at the parks after i've already paid for admission! Sigh. I guess i am not into halloween as much as others. Maybe i'd do it for some of the x-mas events or food and wine events as those seem more interesting to me.

i would love to be to talk myself into it, but probably not...

aww, i'm sad that your trip report is winding down. But, at least you got to spend a great evening at chef mickey's and all of the characters. I loved spending time on the beaches at the caribbean beach resort. It is so nice and relaxing.

the hammocks were very nice. It would have been nice to take the time to enjoy it more. But, i don't think we would ever slow down enough.

boooo another end of a trip!

i know, it's always sad when they end, especially when there is not a ptr to head to like lucky you!!!!! :)

i can totally relate to being tight with $$$ but there are times when you just gotta try something once. Mnsshp is tons of fun and i'm sure lexi and levi would love it. Maybe one day :goodvibes

oh, i know lexi & levi would love it. Anything that involves candy they would like!!!! And, the dressing up part too.

I bet they were filming either a commercial or maybe something to add to their vacation planning dvd? Bubba said she would see them filming this stuff all the time when she worked there.

it was neat to watch. I would love to see the finished product.

i'm so sad that the trip is coming to an end! It's been a great journey though, and i have thoroughly enjoyed following along beginning with all the planning til now!!

i've enjoyed having my georgia peach neighbor here too!!!!!

i'm so glad you found your camera case, and i know you were too!! :woohoo:

thanks! It was a huge relief!

ummmm...so sad to see it come to an end! It's funny how even reading a stranger's tr end is a little sad...

i know, it's true. I'm always sad when a tr ends that i've been reading. It's like you get a little attached to the person/family even though you don't know them.

i do love those little oreo treats at cm, unfortunately the only thing really memorable about the food there. Not that it's "bad" per se, but just not really all that good either. We switched to the garden grill last trip for our character fix and liked it much better.

i love gg too. My problem is that we like every restaurant we've been to & have a hard time deciding which to knock off to try new ones.

did you ever run into any lovebugs? With your tr title...i assumed they would be all over. We did late september back in 2007, and they were pretty present around the resort at the time.

we had tons of lovebugs around us. I believe i only mentioned them at the beginning of tr (which was months & months ago, now) but, levi would catch them & torture lexi with them during the whole trip!!

with this tr wrapping up it begs the question....

....so when is your next trip?

unfortunately, it will not be this year :guilty:

sp

i was a bit behind...as usual...;)

love this picture - what a great sport he is!

thanks, he was a great sport & i love that picture!

we experienced the same low-crowds one time when we visited mk on a mnsshp day, it was great! What a perfect day to end your trip!

i am going to remember this & i will always go mk on mnsshp from now on.

i also enjoy the mickey mouse oreo cookies. I think they are adorable and feel the need to get them every trip.

yum! :p and, they are so darn cute too!

i believe it! :confused3

i'm confused with that too :confused3. Your doing something... Jumping jacks, running for fastpasses????
Actually, my pedometer is on my cellphone. I've tested mine out at home & it's very accurate.

but yeah, you do tend to walk a fair bit at disney. I might even have something to say about that soon over on my thread. :rolleyes1

i saw that & it was very cute. I might have also have something to say about that on my last installment too, lol! Great minds think alike, phone pranking, etc...

what a great ending to your trip. We have done chef mickey's on our first day before, and also another time on our last day. It's great either way! This time it's right in the middle of our trip! You can't beat seeing all those characters without having to wait in a huge line! :thumbsup2

we love chef mickeys! Both of our trips it has been our last dinner. We have not purposely planned it that way, but it has worked out great since it's one of my kids favorite.

and yay for finding your camera bag! :cool1:

thanks!

so when's the next trip? Popcorn::

i only wish it was close enough to start a ptr!!! :guilty:

Oh, I didn't mention this, but totally agree with going to MK on days when there's a hard ticket event at night - super low crowds. And, I don't blame you for skipping the MNSSHP. If you read my last TR, you know my opinion, and though I would say it's probably worth doing once, it's not something I would consider a "must do" at all if you don't like crowds. (Though perhaps if you go in September it wouldn't be so crowded.)

We are having the same dilemma with MNSSHP - not sure if it is worth the extra bucks though everyone keeps telling me it is worth it!

I'm sure the kids would love going to MNSSHP, it is a hard decision.

Exploring CBR sounds like fun - I would love to just stay in one of them hammocks for a bit.

I would love to be in one of those hammocks right now! :goodvibes

Oh.. done? NO! Tell me you are about to start a PTR... right? popcorn::

We've been following each other since our PTR last year!!!! At least you have another PTR going, I'm jealous! :)

How funny about the camera bag!!!

I was just so relieved when I found out. I had been trying so hard all week not to think about it because I would get upset when I did.

I understand what you are saying about the extra $$ for the party. I have yet to purchase ticket for MVMCP.. and I probably will... but there is a part of me that wonders if I really should.

I'll just enjoy looking at the parties through your TR!

glad to see levis favorite is donald.
:thumbsup2
he has some good taste.

Yes, he does!

i love the chef mickey dinner, alot of people seem to shy away from it saying the food is not that good, but we always seem to enjoy it there.

The food has always been good to us too. And, with it being a buffet, there has always been plenty of something that we all like. :goodvibes

that is because you do so much pacing back and forth while the woman are using the restroom that you rack up the extra miles.
:thumbsup2

I think you're right about Glenn :rotfl:

What a fun dinner at Chef Mickey's! :thumbsup2

I cannot WAIT to try those Mickey oreo things! I am definitely a chocoholic so those are right up my alley!

They are soooooo goooood!

That's so cute that they were filming on the monorail! What lucky children! I wish you guys could have known what it was for though!

And, of course, Lexi was wanted to get in with the other children!

I totally understand about not going to MNSSHP. It is sooo expensive, and all the extra expenses make you feel guilty.

YAY YAY YAYYY for finding your camera bag!!! :woohoo:

Thanks!

I love just walking around and taking it all in on the last night. And it looks like Lexi and Levi had fun on the playground. :)

They did, & we were exhausted. The week finally caught up with me on this night.

That's so cool that you could see Illuminations! :yay:

We were able to watch Illuminations a couple of times during the week from our resort. It was pretty neat!

So sad that this is almost over. :(

I'm sad to see your TR coming to an end, I've really been enjoying it. Do you guys have another trip in the works?

Thanks!
We know we will be going back, but we don't have anything planned. My kids BEG to go back all of the time!

I'm sure it would be very fun & we would love it too. But, most of the time I can be so tight about $ that it drives Brad crazy.

i'm so happy you foudn your memory cards:thumbsup2. i would have been heartbroken.

Thanks, I was soooo relieved when I found them!!!!! We had searched everything EXCEPT the bag where I had made a purchase that night.

i'm pretty sure that they took those playgrounds out of the beaches. i know there wasn't one in Jamaica last month.

Really??? I wonder why. Lexi & Levi had fun playing on them the short time they were able to.

Yeah, I wonder the crowds difference it between Sept & Oct.
I've only gone to WDW in Sept, but our next trip we plan will probably be in Oct to work with a short school week that we have every October.
