Disney Vacation DVD

Just received the Vacation Planning DVD. It is much of the same but very easy to move from place to place and has a view extras. Much better than the VHS.

What are some of the extras that are on it?

Ditto. Got mine today as well.

Extras include:

- Short 1-2 minute featurettes on about 8 park rides (HM, Pirates, Kilimanjaro, Dinosaur, ToT, Test Track are the ones I can think of.)
- A look at Disney's "Newest" resort, AKL.
- An Interactive map--basically a WDW map that takes you to info on the main video regarding each park when you click on it.
- Photo gallery for each resort.

The main video itself seemed different than the VHS version we got a few months back, but the differences are nothing earth-shattering.

All-in-all, a surprisingly well done DVD for their first effort. I expected little more than the main video, and was pleasantly surprised with the added features.

Where did you order this? I received the video a few weeks ago and now I NEED this DVD to add to our collection I was cleaning out things a few weeks ago and came across the planning video that had the big pink cake on it LOL, 6 years ago. I want to watch it to see what the new things was then.

You can get the dvd from the same place you order the video. Just change the video format to dvd. I ordered mine today from the disney.com site. Here's a link to make it easy.

the form on the website mentioned above can not accept a name that has an apostrophe in it. Enter your info without it and it will accept your data.

I just received the adult version DVD and loved it.....hey if I can't go this year, this is going to have to help satisfy my Disney craving for the year.

I'm wondering if I order the family version if they will send that to me too, since I just recieved this one or do they track addresses fairly stringently.

I'm not trying to be a freebie hog here, I just would like to see the "family version" too.

Anyone else done this?

I got the pre-fam version today, and I thought it was pretty decent. In past years I enjoyed the postfamily version the most, so I'll try to order myself a copy of that and see how it compares.

How long did it take you guys to get your DVDs? It seems like I requested mine forever ago and have yet to receive it.

We're leaving in 3 weeks--I hope I'll have it by then!

We got our dvd today, watched it and enjoyed it quite a bit. I really liked getting more detail about each resort , including room layouts.
Now if only they would offer something similar on the cruiseline!!

Mine arrived less than two weeks after ordering it. Hope you get yours soon!

Two weeks!?! Maybe I should re-order mine--it's probably been 4-5 weeks already.

Tiggeroo, you may want to call and re-order. I first ordered ours on Christmas Day. It never came, I tried ordering online and was unable to...server was down or something...and I finally had to call and talk to a person to get one delivered. I was told that I may have missed out the first time I ordered because they were in the process of switching over to the new videos at that time. It finally arrived yesterday. LOL I'm also still waiting on a DVC video that I requested the 1st week of January and finally had to call DVC to re-order and was to have the video w/in 7-10 days....it's still not here. Nor did I receive the phone call from a DVC rep that I was told I'd get. Ho hum, their loss. LOL BTW, I loved the new DVD, great to get more info on the resorts and DS9 loves the previews on the rides.

I ordered the dvd and received it within 3 weeks. However, I did not realize there are different versions. Was there a choice for adult or family?

I believe they send you the appropriate video/dvd based on your responses to the questions that they ask. For instance, they ask for the year of birth for all children in your household under 18 and then they later ask if you will be traveling with children. I never specify which video I want but I always get the family one.
