First of all, welcome to the DIS and most especially to the DVC Forum!

Second of all, CONGRATULATIONS AND WELCOME HOME!

Yes, it is difficult to get standard view rooms at the BWV if you are unable to take advantage of the 11 month booking advantage. That said, you just never know until you call what the availability may be. People's plans change all the time and you might get lucky. Consider using the waitlist if you cannot get your first choice of rooms and/or dates.

Those standard rates are great (and I hope the villas are too, we haven't been "home" yet). Have you bought at BWV so you'll be able to book at 11 months the next time?

Too bad you didn't try for a standard view last week--I called and changed my ressie for July into a boardwalk view, and I am thrilled with that!! I just couldn't get excited about that July trip, knowing that I wasn't going to be able to have my morning coffee while watching all those crazy joggers go by! So now I have my boardwalk view, and someone out there is thrilled to death that they got a standard view just 6 months ahead!

I would make a reservation at OKW or where ever you can, then get on a wait list for BWV if that is where you really want to go. I have had std view 'luck' at less than 7 months, 2 times, both for summer months, which are NOT super high demand times. Once I got the room while on the phone, the other time was a wait list that came through in about 6 weeks. With a reservation at OKW or ??? at least you have a place to stay if the wait list doesn't happen. Good luck, and have a great trip.
