I have an account that's over a year old. How long do you need to leave the money in the account to acquire the $20/$1000 bonus?

As long as the account has been open 120 days it doesn't matter how long the money has been in there. i.e. 1/1/2016: put $10 into DVA, 8/1/2016: put $2,000 into account, 8/2/2016 pay off trip, receive $40 gift card as close to two weeks before your trip.

Yes, and I can verify from experience. I did something like this recently (actually most money had been in there, but I put enough in at the very end to get up to the next $1000 tier) and did indeed get the full bonus.
