Thank you! I knew I was overlooking it but I couldn't find it! :worship:

I looked at Raise.com and it says you can't use the target gift card for other gift cards. So I'm going to call someone's bluff on that they are getting 8% off there.

I have purchased $9000 worth of Disney gift cards using Raise.com to buy target cards and then purchase my Disney gift cards. So yes, you absolutely can do this.

Totally understand your point. I just know what worked for me and MANY others that posted here. If you don't want to try it, that won't impact the appx $1000 I saved on my trip.

If you do want to try it, and are still doubtful, buy $25 worth of Target cards on Raise then use that to buy Disney cards from Target. If it works, you can enjoy the savings. If it doesn't work, you are only out $25 - unless you find something on Target.com that you want to order for $25.

ETA: I also wrote a document on how to purchase on Target and get the 5% REDCard discount. I suppose I could have Photoshopped the images, but that seems like a long way to go to try to con people into buying cards from Raise. ;) You can search through the thread above to find a link if you are interested. I tried a quick search and couldn't find my post.

I never updated the doc to show the DVA process and savings, but compared to the Raise to Target transactions, the DVA is simple. ;)

I had never heard of the DVA. Quick question, is the latest you can apply money from the DVA to your vacation 2 months out? In other words, if I'm travelling in June of 2016 on a cruise, can I still apply payments to the account in May for things like excursions/tips...?

I have been entering my Disney Gift cards into my new DVA to pay my DVC dues. This year's dues were $1800 and I don't expect that next year's will be over $2,000. So, I'll get a $20 card for the first $1000 but I'll have to spend another $200 to get the next $20. I won't have any other pre-paid expenses (no resort rooms, no tickets or DDP). I know that I can ask for a dispersement of my DVA funds in a Disney gift card that I can then use at WDW. Does the DV pay the bonus on that too? So, if I spent $1800 on my DVC dues and received a 200 Disney gift card from my DVA, would I receive a $20 or $40 bonus?

So I opened my DVA on 2/10/15. From my calculations today is the 120 day mark. Should I wait another day to payoff my cruise or can I today? And when do I request the bonus gift cards? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

You absolutely CAN buy Target gift cards from Raise and then use them to buy Disney cards. I have been doing this for months now and it has saved me a tremendous amount on our upcoming cruise. Disney cards are classified as entertainment cards with Target.

There wouldn't be 30 something pages in one thread on this subject if it was just a big con that someone was pulling. Give it a try or don't but in the past 2 days alone I have bought $750 in Target gift cards at an average discount of 8.5% and then turned around and used those to buy Disney gift cards at an additional 5%. That is a big savings for me.

I too have done this several times over the past few days. I pay for my cards through rasie with my mileage credit card so I am also getting air miles.

That's great! I'm using my card that gives 2% cash back plus depositing into my DVA account for another 2%. Gotta save where we can.

I bought a $2000 Target gift card through Raise yesterday for $1820. Today I purchased $2100 in Disney Gift Cards online at Target for $1995 using the $2000 Target gift card. So, for $1820 I got $2100 in Disney GCs with $5 left in my Target GC. Savings of $280.

I'm not sure you can pay your DVC dues with your DVA. Just today I was thinking about doing this and check the DVA FAQs and found this:

Can I apply my Disney Vacation Account toward a Disney Vacation Club Membership?
No, Disney Vacation Club Real Estate interests cannot be purchased with the Disney Vacation Account.
Can I apply my Disney Vacation Account toward the Annual Dues for my Disney Vacation Club Membership?
No, your Annual Dues cannot be paid using your Disney Vacation Account.

I searched for this very thing on the DIS. You give them your DVA number and tell them it is a gift card. Worse comes to worse, I can ask for my DVA $ to be disbursed as a Disney gift card and then use that. I'm not out money.
