Disney Vacation Account - Site Down?

Just out of curiosity-everyone was able to use their funds during the website outage correct? I mean as long as they had the number-just wanted to verify that nobody had an issue actually accessing their money

I was able to book two resort stays and purchase MNSSHP tickets while the website was down.

Thanks guys just wanted to check as we have $ in our account (I do have the account number) and don't want to be stuck if there is a website issue again when we need to use it

I noticed it was back up this morning and like many of you, been a little nervous and luckily I'm not needing to enter any gift cards or use my account immediately, but I just decided to pay off our WDW trip for December now. I owed a little less than $1500 and it was due in August but figured heck with all their issues lately, I'd rather have it paid, then just sitting there waiting for me to pay it later. I will likely do the same for the cruises I have - might as well pay what I have towards them (and in full) instead of it just sitting in the DV account.

Also glad to hear others *could* use the account to make payments even with all the technical issues.

I came to post that it was up, but seems that you all are already on top of it. I will say there was a lesson (or 2) learned here. #1) write down your account number! I hadn't done that so I couldn't use it (I didn't try calling in to get it cause the one time I did try this week I was told they were too busy to take any calls). #2) don't wait until the last minute to do anything.

I do have a question --- i'm about to pay off my cruise, is it better to empty the DVA out or is it ok to leave a few $$ in there and roll that for my next vacation? Is there any benefit to opening a new account?

Thanks!

Glad everyone is in! Finally checked mine and all is well.

Off to get the account number for backup as well...

I have only one account and use it for all my WDW trips, ticket purchases and cruises. I don't think there really is any benefit to opening a second one especially if you are close to earning another gift card with your first account.

I was able to add the account number during the checkout process online and it showed the correct balance. I wasn't interested in actually completing the purchase, so I didn't go any further to see if it would go through.

There were a poster on the TPAS board who managed to log in during one of those brief periods when the website was up, got her account number info and then went on to make a deposit on a vacation package. I believe that it went through without a problem once she had her account number.

That's what I did. When I could get in I verified my balance and then applied all but $25 to my upcoming trip. The paying aspect on the Disney website worked fine despite the issues on the DVA site.

I also think if you are planning to use DVA you might as well keep the same account. I'm leaving $25 seed money in there for my next trip, but it will be a long while before I make any deposits or let them do auto withdrawals. I want a long record of stability on their website before I give them any more money.

I was able to log-in at 5:00 p.m. and successfully apply seven separate GCs (Three $100s. and four $50s), with my correct balance showing after each GC deposit, however, I only received five confirmation emails - two $100s and three $50s. When I logged back in, my correct balance was still showing. Thankfully, I screen-shotted and saved each confirmation page, and my final balance page...And - thanks to another poster whose recommendation I'd read in an earlier, other thread - I've been keeping a detailed spreadsheet of gift card/access numbers, amounts, dates, etc. While this whole DVA thing has been aggravating, in itself, it's dawned on my how "funny" it is that I go to Disney to get away from work and spreadsheets, and have wound up needing to create an extra level of the same so I can be assured of sanely, efficiently planning to do so. Next trip: Desert Isle...alone...bathing suit, water, non-perishable foodstuffs, sunscreen, good book, MP3 music library...Stay tuned for that thread, when I - anally - must plan for that adventure!

For those that requested a refund...How long did it take to get it? I put in a request on Wednesday, but didn't receive a confirmation and the money is still in my DVA.

Should I submit another one?

I requested a refund on Saturday. Still no confirmation of my request and the money is still in the account. Don't hold your breath.

Just used the DVA for our trip deposit...still awaiting final confirmation to see that all went well...
