I just opened a DVA and I have tried three different credit cards to fund it with and it won't accept any of them. I have no idea what the problem could be. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Not sure. Mine worked fine with disney visa. I would call their customer service. In the meantime you can buy gift cards and load them on that way. I have been buying the 3 pack of 50s at SAMs that is about 143 instead of 150. So I save 7$ for every 150 I load that way. Saving for a DCL cruise summer 2016. Alaska. If we don't end up going I will just use the account for our regular disney trips and tickets at a future date.

What does the error say?
I just set mine up with my debit card Friday night. Only issue I had was I tried only doing $5 but it is a $10 minimum.

Did you get it to work?

I have used my account for over a year, including paying for our last trip using it. When I first opened the account, I had no issues. But as I continued to fund it, I would run into problems with it posting the money. There would be some sort of error that would kick me out of the payment. So, I found out then it was a little quirky. Thought it was maybe just me.

I also thought it may have been the way I was funding the account. What I do is use Disney gift cards to fund our entire trip. Whether buying them at Kroger, Target, or Sam's using every money saving tool I can, the number of gift cards being entered was enormous. There are times I would enter 40 gift cards at a time and some I would have to go back and try multiple times. I did find out however that the servers they use are less worked overnight. So, I would either stay up late or get up early to enter them.

If you are not using the Vacation Account with the gift cards, you are missing out!!!!

Question with Disney Vacation Account.
My hotel, park tickets, and airline tickets are purchased. Our only expenses left are food and souvenirs. I do NOT want a dining plan - it's just not for us. I would like to have all of our meals and in-park purchases charged back to our room and pay off the expenses at the end. I expect the charges to be around $1,000. So, I would like to put money into the DVA to cover these expenses (yes, with GCs that I'm saving through various deals). Would I be able to use my DVA to pay off these expenses at the end?

I have noticed that making a payment can be glitchy from time to time. Kicking you out mid payment, not posting the payment until you leave the page and come back to it again. Sometimes, the home page will say the site is unavailable and I log in and it's just fine. It's just a wonky system. IMO.

Not likely. I was unsuccessful trying to pay off room charges with my DVA account. The CM put the numbers in twice and both times came back as errors.

On the flip side, my trip last weekend had a dining plan. I canceled it a week out. I didn't realize until 2 days into our trip that they gave us room credit rather than refunding it to the original payment type. So in essence, I did use DVA for some of our room charges.

DVA question.
We are staying off property, and our park tickets are already paid for (YES program).
I would like to buy discounted gift cards and stash some cash away here and there in a DVA for the next 6 months, but my remaining expenses will be the following -
BBB for my DD
Dining
MNSSHP tickets
Souvenirs and shopping

Will I be able to use my DVA for any of that?
Or can they cash the whole thing out in one big disney GC that I can use to pay for those things?

There is a maximum amount (which I think is $500) that can be withdrawn over the life of the account and placed onto a gift card. The Vaction Account is used to purchase the vacation by using the acct like a credit card. So with that said, if their are certain dining options like Hoopty Doo Revue, that would be something you could pay for since it is in advance. MNSSHP tickets could be purchased using it. BBB is paid for at the time of service so that is a no go.

Now, with that being said, it does state that you can request a partial or full refund. However, it will be returned to the original payment, be it Disney gift card or credit card/cash. If you doing a large amount of gift cards, you would need to keep with those just in case. If you aren't planning on buying a Disney Dining plan, I would not use the Vacation Acct. for storing cash. Get an envelope and a safe and stash it away.
