Disney Vacation Account Nightmare

I've read so many DVA horror stories on this board that I will never open one. I considered it for a while, but not any more. A 2% return in the form of a Disney GC is not worth all the potential hassle. I'd rather leave the money in my own savings account; it earns less interest but at least I don't have to worry about it being lost.

agreed

I also thought briefly about using DVA, but I've seen too many people complaining of issues with their accounts, so I'm out.

I am currently having the same nightmare with my DVA as some of the pp above. Worked fine for over a year - including automatic weekly contributions from my bank - and then on Wednesday I got the dreaded "you have a Disney account, but no DVA. Create one now." I have spent hours on the phone Thurs and Friday with IT and on Friday I got a call back from "Greg" in California that it was fixed, but when I checked it was not. Greg said to call IT @ 407 # back and they said I have to request a refund and start from square one. Although most of the CM I spoke with were pleasant, NO ONE has a clue how to resolve this. What a major hassle! Since my contributions over the last year and a half have been a combination of bank automatic payments and adding in g/c, does anyone know what form my refund will come in (if I am even able to get one)? I never thought this would happen to me lol. My advice = do NOT go near DVA!!

I am glad i did not sign up for this a few years ago. I just opted to put my money in a savings account at my bank for vacations, including Disney. I don't have a lot of patience dealing with money issues so it seems I saved myself from a lot of stress from not doing this.

I posted on another thread, but my account of almost $2K is also missing. I know it's nothing I did on my part, as I wrote down my username and password, as well as the entire 16 digit account number, as well as know the exact balance with screen shots. I've been sent off the tech support/IT in California. It's just annoying and not something I want to be dealing with right now. I was told the system automatically merges accounts behind the scenes, and when that happens, it looks like you never had a DVA.

I call customer service in Friday because i dont log in to my DVA... That is the second time that have problem with my account.. The same think with costumer service the lady reset my password and noting change.. She let me now that sent my information to other technical guy and i am waiting for email or call... That is my new sad Disney Experience I want a total refund and yess close the account. One question by phone i be able to ask for full refund and close the account or I need to enter my account to do this... Sorry for the language I speak Spanish
