Disney Update on Mickey's Halloween Party

Just the fireworks alone are worth the ticket.

Thanks for the info!

Oh yeah, it's surprising how Disney can create such a great Fireworks show and still be able to improve upon it for events like this.

Unfortunately, the Parks Blog didn't give us any info that we didn't already know over in the Halloween thread, but I'm glad to see that they finally wrote something up in the Blog about HalloweenTime.

I can't wait to see how all of it plays out in Disneyland. We've done the DCA party in the past and it has always been a great alternative to the traditional trick-or-treating experience.

How will DL clear out the non-ticket holders? I know they won't have wristbands, but what if they are just going to hang around for the fireworks? Will CMs look for their wristbands and escort them out, if they don't see any? That could be tricky!

How does WDW do it?

Seems to me that they should have shown the Screams fireworks everynight. Then all the APers and guests could see them too. Those who have the hard party ticket for Fridays and Sundays, get the advantage to see them without the mess, and that is worth the ticket alone to many! Also way worth it for the rides! :cool1:

WDW issues wristbands. After the party starts, if you don't have a wristband you cannot buy anything, ride anything, eat anyplace. The CMs are out in force in the park, shops, and eating establishments. If you don't have a wristband, you get escorted from the park if you try to stay later.

About ten years ago I was at the MK for Extra MAgic Hours one night. Resort guests had wristebands and they had CMs stationed here and there asking to see them and anyone who didn't they told them the park was closed and directed them to the exit. I could see them doing this at DL.

WOW, the fireworks look awesome, what are the dates for this again??? we are going Oct. 22-24th will this be going on then??

Look in that link I think on Tuesday and Friday plus halloween. You get a discount if you buy tickets ahead of time. Which I would do anyway. Also their are AP rates. It will tell you on www.disneyland.com

Damn, $49 bucks, what kinda candy do they give out, has anybody been to this before, is it worth $49???

I think the Trick or treating is only worth it if you have a little one - they do give out (quite generously, at least last year they did) brand name candy and "healthy" options like mini carrots, apples, raisins, freeze dried fruit ... but for the price of the ticket ... I dunno :)

What makes it fun for us, is the unique trick or treating for DD6 ... the dance parties ... my DD6 has a blast at those. They had lots of cool character photo ops at last year's party. Now that it's at DL, it's an opportunity to experience DL at night with greatly reduced crowds ... plus see the Halloween Screams fireworks. Only you can decide if that's worth the price of admission :)

I'm hoping that those that go to the first few parties will report back to us going later with a full report on how the CMs handle non-party guests. I can see that there may be quite a few that think they will stick around JUST for the fireworks. In the dark it might be difficult to see who has a wristband and who doesn't, especially if they just wait around for the fireworks and don't do anything else.

I like to go because I can trick or treat. Can't do that at my age. The CM's don't say a word and kindly pass put the candy. The kid in me comes out and I so enjoy looking in my bag (did I get a rock?) and walking the park. It feels like a neighbor trick or treating experience.

I have done both MNSSHP and all of the MHPs and would highly recommend any Disney fan to join the fun at least once,

Are you following the Halloween at DL thread? There should be lots of pics and information posted as soon as Halloween Time starts on Sept. 17. There is a lot discussion on how the CM's will clear the park and so I suspect there will be some info on how this is done as soon as the first party is finished. If you are not following this thread, here is the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=38098598#post38098598

Good point. It does make you feel like a kid. I always dress up as something and it feels like you're back in grade school! That Disney magic ... :wizard:

The trick or treating will become even more special at DLR in the coming years. In the past, I have had a couple of families over to trick or treat in my neighborhood. The parents and I would go right along with the kids and have a blast talking and catch up with each other. Well last year, we started getting strange looks, and I began to realize that some of the "kids" are in high school! My eldest started high school this year, and doesn't want to go this year, but will trick or treat at MHP. My days of trick or treating n my neighborhood are numbered :sad2: I will miss it, but I think MHP will be a good substitute for me.

Feeling like a kid.

That's the main reason I go to Disneyland. I like the fact that I can check my "adult day to day stuff" at the gate and be a sheep in a safe pasture.

I hadn't been to Disneyland in 20+ years. This year I will have gone 10 times or better. The people in my life roll their eyes and wonder why I have gone so much. I just tell them going to DL feeds the lighter side of me.

I'll be doing the Haloween party next year with my neice.

Y'all have a blast this year!

I'm hoping to be able to do this next year with some grandkids so will look forward to all the reports. Do they give the kids a trick or treat bag or are they supposed to bring their own? And really..can adults trick or treat too? I mean..since I'll have a ticket.....:)

They will provide a bag, but it is nothing special. In years past they have had a plastic bag with advertising for an upcoming movie. It is something different every year.

Yes yes yes you can trick or treat! The Cm's don't even bat an eye when you hold out your bag. I never feel bad or guilty and that is the beauty of it. You bought a ticket and that means you should make full use of it! Of course, I don't trick or treat for the candy! I do it for the fun. It also very fun to walk the park in this new way. They usually give you a map with all the candy stations and it is fun to hand it over to one of the little ones and allow them to navigate their party through the park to each station. It really does feel like a neighborhood trick or treating experience.
