Whew!
I was planning on getting this done sooner, but DD has come down with a horrendous case of the CHICKEN POX just a day and a half after we got home
Ok, where'd I leave off...
Oh! Day 3 - DD's 11th birthday! Started off with breakfast at Chef Mickey's. I love that place. Great food, but I have to complain about the service. When I made the PS months ago, I made sure they knew it was DD's birthday, and they said they would make it very special. We were seated after about a 10 minute wait, no problem there. Server came over, not even a hint of smile! I told her it was DD's birthday, and she said "yeah, I know", still no smile. You know when the smile came? The same time the check did. Sorry, a little late now. But, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Chip & Dale made a point to make a big deal about her birthday, and that's what really counts.
Left Chef Mickey's and headed over to the MK to get the "Today is my birthday" button at City Hall. Had a great day - so many CMs said "Happy Birthday" as they or we passed by, it was just a great feeling! Coming off Buzz Lightyear, a CM working a cart told her she could pick any pin she wanted off his lanyard. We got a pic of them together. What a kind man!
As we're leaving MK, we're walking down Main Street, and off to the left in that little dead end area, was the barbershop quartet and another quartet with instruments (wearing overalls). I asked if they did requests, they said "SURE! What do you want to hear?". I, of course, taking every opportunity to make this the best day ever, say "Happy Birthday". They made a big deal about it, asked her name, and sang to her, right there!
Everyone on the street around us stopped and sang along. It was just... MAGICAL!
Got to BWV to shower & change for dinner at Whispering Canyon at WL. Now I know why WL is our favorite. Our server "Cowgirl Candy Cane" was fabulous! She also made a great, big deal about the "day". After dinner, when she brought out the cake, she brought along 6 boys ages 11-12 that she rounded up from the other tables. She made the announcement that is was Gianna's birthday and had the boys sing to her! Then, she had her make her wish and blow out the candles, and said she knows what she wished for... "A kis from every single one of these boys!". The place went wild, G's turning beet red, and the boys almost fell over!
