Disney UK Pin Traders

Thanks for the link - and also the link to the disney store where you can buy them - the disney store in birmingham does not sell pins which is a shame - i'm sure that they would be really popular.

Thanks for the link, I joined. Does anyone know which of the UK stores actually sell the pins? I bought them on line but it said stores would be selling them too from last Saturday.

They are selling them in the Norwich store, I asked a friend who works for disney and they said that all stores should be selling them in the uk soon, they are just introducing so many at a time to see how popular the sales will be.

The core pins to start your collection are:

I understand the limited addition pins in the photo are limited to 800 each. Peterborough store only started with 10 of each of the limited edition pins and plenty of the core ones. If the local store has sold out try online by the link below.

There are 4 more limited edition pins that can be purchased online, however they are limited to 500 each:-

My DS and DD started to pin trade during this last holiday (we got back yesterday :sad1: ) mainly because of the free ones we were given at the main store at DTD as AP holders. Each visit to the customer service desk resulted in 4 pins and I wouldn't like to guess how many they got in total. These were then traded at the parks, DTD and anywhere else they saw a CM with a lanyard. DS was looking for Stitch pins and DD was after Pluto. By the end of the holiday they had almost 30 each of their chosen characters. DW already had 40 Tigger pins but struggles to find any now as she has most of the ones available (other than what you can get off ebay that is).
Looks like we may have to make a trip to York to see if the Disney shop there is one of the ones selling them.
Thanks for the face book link though. Will have to have a look on there as well.

Went into the Peterborough store and they have sold all of the limited edition ones except 2 Belle & Beast and they are not getting anymore :sad2:

The lady that served me also said that they are looking at pin trading in store and will be selling lanyards & accessories in the future too.

Great :thumbsup2 I'll check out the group!

I got some UK pins just yesterday from Disney on-line. My Dad chose the Pinocchio pin and I got myself the curtsey Tink, Wall-E & Stitch Hula - I love them!

Just been back on and was really tempted with the Sorcerer Mickey & Rocket Stitch - I need to avoid this website, at all costs, I'll have no wages left :rotfl2:

Saw the pins in the Leicester store today - don't know which ones are still in stock though.

All the stores are selling the pins - at least those that aren't online exclusive. Chester has all of them in stock minus the the Irish Stitch one (sold out). We've also had some more since then. There's a Band Leader Mickey (Ltd Ed) and Cinderella with reversable dress (Ltd Ed). There's also one or two pins ready to be released on saturday this week. One of them is the next in the romance series (that B&TB one is from) and it's sleeping Beauty (total of six in series). The cinderella with castle core one is also the first in a series of six. The next one is SB but I don't have a release date. Don't think many fans in our area know we're doing the pins cause some stores are selling out faster than others!

The plymouth store is also selling them , they said that they will have trading meetings by the end of March and will also have the lanyards in .I think my son collection of stich pins is going to get much bigger now

Not heard anything about trading meetings - that might be store only, we've certainly not been told at our store. But we do have a lanyard - had those for a week or so. Oh and it's Alice in Wonderland that's also coming out tomorrow pin wise.

Does anyone know if the UK limited edition pins will be sought after by the pin traders that set up shop in DTD.
DW, DS and DD have all seen pins that these traders have that would have been good in their collections, but some of them wanted 3 or 4 brand new pins in exchange for 1.
If we went over with a few UK ones they be more willing to trade one for one would you think??

I had a look at the Official Pin Trading website and it had the latest releases on. According to that site, the Limited Edition Pins in the Disney Store are only being made available in Europe... What that means for pin trading in the states I don't know, but it's the perfect excuse for me to keep buying them!

I think it all depends.

I've been searching on Ebay for the last couple of days and our 'UK only' pins have been appearing on there already :scared1:

So, I guess it all depends on the American's sourcing them out from on there if they really want them.

By the ones at DTD, do you mean the ones outside the shop, with the folders full of pins? Does this mean they are not officially registered with Disney to trade them there? I saw them last time we were over there but was too scared to approach as I didn't know what it was all about. Then again, if they wanted more than one of my pins for just one of theirs, then it wouldn't be happening. Disney pin trading was always in my eyes set up to trade 'one for one' :)

Yes they're the ones.
These are private pin traders and the collections they have are extensive to say the least.
My DW did get a couple of Tigger pins that she had been after and, at first, we didn't know what the score was.
Once she had seen one that she wanted we asked the trader what pin he wanted in return, he then went into the shop and showed us the particular limited edition one he would accept as a trade.
There was also another time that the pin DW was after was a rare one, and the trader in question wanted 2 limited editions in exchange - strangely though he wanted 2 of the same pin (we suspected ebay). On this occassion we were happy to pay it because it would have cost us more should that particular Tigger pin ever appear on ebay

I'm glad to read this as I would be uncomfortable with this. Will ensure that troops do their trading only with CMs :goodvibes
