GRRRRRR!

I got it too. I also emailed them back and told them while they are cancelling my order, they can cancel my Sears charge card too. I won't be needing it anymore.

What ever happened to that old rule where they have to sell you "something" for what ever the price marked?

Unfortunately for us,Sears made sure that there was an escape clause in terms and conditions. Basically, they do not have to honor any price quoted on their web page.

If you are otherwise unsatisfied with your purchase, you may return it to Sears. Please see our Return/Cancellation Policy.

In other words, Sears has a CYA policy in case they decide not to honor an ad.
PS I haven't received a cancellation email....yet!

I haven't gotten my cancellation yet. Here's hoping. I ordered mine Sunday am.

I ordered mine last night- haven't gotten a cancellation e-mail yet, but I am sure it's coming
Oh well, it would have been great if I got the tv, because we really need one- but I am sure I will find a nice reasonably priced tv somewhere with all the Christmas sales coming up.

I ordered Saturday am and I just got the your order has been cancled email. I'll also be writing them to tell them to cancle my credit card because I won't be shopping there anymore. If they would of handled the situation better it would have been fine. They blew it in my eyes.

What I don't understand is why the error was not pulled sooner? I didn't order this until yesterday afternoon.

The only thing I can think of is that they were waiting for someone to fix the error.

I ordered one Sunday am and haven't received the "your order has been cancelled" yet. I did check my Sears credit account and it has been charged to that.

Guess I will have to wait and see if anything happens.

If you're purchasing something in a store then they have to sell it to you for the advertised price unless a correction has been posted, or for the posted price if that's the error.

A website is an entirely different entity altogether. Most of them have a loophole in the T&C that says what was posted earlier - basically that they're not liable for any errors in pricing or information listed and can't be held accountable for it. Check almost any commercial website - hotels, airlines, car rentals... they all say the same thing.

;) Im not flaming, but I guess I dont know what everyone is so surprised about.. The other thread has indicated that this was going to happen.. some people did get in on the deal but some are not.. I also ordered on Saturday before I realized it was an error.. I wont be mad if I dont get it.. sure Im hoping I still get it, but I definitely wont be surprised if my order gets cancelled and I wont not shop at Sears anymore because of it.. Obviously its an error.. I say hooray for those that are able to get it.. :cheer2: :cheer2:

And I am sure that if the error was the other way around, Sears would notify all the customers about that as well.

Ever seen one of these?

Unfortunately, your order for the lawn mower with sears.com has been cancelled due to an error with the advertised sale price. I doubt it. :rotfl2:

The thing is we have seen airlines and hotels with mistakes like this and they honored their mistake

Sears is making a big mistake and very bad PR how they are handling this

I just looked on Sears website and my order still shows as processed even though I got an email saying it was canceled. Seems like they are getting their act together finally. :rotfl2:

That is exactly what I was thinking- I wonder if those hotels/airlines honored the glitch price out of legal obligation or simply because they wanted to keep customers happy and avoid bad word of mouth publicity.

I'm not sure why hotels decide to honor these deals, ut it does make a big difference. I was one of the fortunate few able to get a room at the HI for $.93 per night. By honoring that rate, HI has made me a VERY loyal customer. I also told several people how happy I was with how things were handeled....

SOMETIMES the hotels and airlines honor those reservations, sometimes they don't. It all depends on exactly what the exec in charge feels like that particular day. I agree that it's good PR to honour it, but they don't always. And they all make sure they have that clause in their T&C as a CYA measure.

Sears has got some real issues right now as far as I am concerned. As far as my order goes, I placed it Saturday morning and immediately printed out my confirmation and took it to Sears (didn't wait for the your order is ready to pick up e-mail) and I got my T.V. for a grand total of $32.00 with tax :cool1: . Now when I check their website my order shows cancelled, however, I have never received any e-mail from them, no order confirmation, no ready to pick up, and no cancelled order :confused3 . Nothing... I also read on the other thread that there are a few people who like me just went to sears with the print out from the web page showing they had ordered the item and they got their T.V.'s and have also now gotten a refund so they got a free T.V. Sears needs some serious help. They are screwing things up all over the place. All they needed to do was fix the website as soon as they realized there was a problem but the item was up and down for 3 days. Give me a break it should have taken them all of 5 minutes to fix the price on their website and avoid a lot of problems.

I got mine Saturday, before I knew it was a mistake. Then I was worried they would charge the $149.00 price, but today it showed up on my CC as $32.07. I really had no idea when I ordered it that it was that big! I guess I just assumed it was a small one. When I saw the box I even asked to make sure it was the right one.
