Disney Trivia Challenge

I haven't done Keys yet, I don't know what T.E.A.M. stands for. :confused3

what was the name of it before that? because the original name was different.

According to Dave Smith, it was the Town Square Cafe and it was hosted by Contadina.

In Disneyland, the Town Square Cafe closed in 1992. It started out as Maxwell House Coffee House and Hills Brothers Coffee House. Then, it was the American Egg House and went back to Town Square Cafe before it closed.

I'm feeling geekier by the minute!

Okay, one final trivia question (I just thought of this):

Why don't Mickey or Minney talk?

I know the answer and I can't wait to tell you. I learned it when I worked for the Disney Store and Mickey came to open our store.

Isn't it because there are many different folks playing these characters and the voices would be different destroying the "magic" for the kids.

Okay, everybody, I was going for the 'Official Disney Explanation'. There is an explanation for why Mickey and Minney do not talk. It is truly a Disney type explanation! :rotfl:

hm, I remember in the mid 70's when it was called the Veranda. Maybe I am remembering something else.

You got us! You got us! We give up!!!
What's the answer?

I'm going to take a stab at remembering the exact reason and it was that Mickey and Minnie only talk on film.

You were close! Here's the explanation...from wdwhistory.com

The Adventureland Veranda offered many exotic foods for the 23 years it existed. The restaurant was the first thing guests saw as they entered Adventureland from Main Street U.S.A. The building which is still not in use, besides Aloha Isle, has Caribbean, African, Oriental and Polynesian looks to it. The eastern side of the building had a mainly Caribbean flair to it with an open eating area.
In 1977 the restaurant was sponsored by Kikkoman and brought along some new menu items like Teriyaki Burgers and South Seas Fruit Salad. In 1993 the restaurant started operating seasonally and less than a year later closed. In 1998 the restaurant re-opened temporarily while Pecos Bill Cafe was under rehab. Occasionally the area is used during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Celebration.
