When I was at the podcast meet on Sunday, Kevin and John posed a Dinsey Trivia question to me (let's see if you can get it):

Before Test Track opened (this also includes Rockin' Roller Coaster, etc), what was the fastest ride at Disney World?

Think hard because it is not easy.

I will provide the answer if no one gets it.

My guess would be the monorail at a top speed of 40mph. Or Tower of Terror or Summit Plumet/etc if you count vertical speed. :)

Andre

Tower of Terror and Summit Plummet were not around yet.

Which Monorail and where does this happen?

Was it the monorail?:confused3

Ooops, didn't see that!
But it has to be the Epcot one.

It could be the monorail, but I need more specifics. It could be another ride as well.

Is this actual speed or implied (i.e. Dark) speed?

I don't really need the actual speed, but just which monorail and approximately where it happens.

Well, I know the latest Mark V Monorails can go 70 mph, if they were allowed. But they used to go through the Grand Canyon Concourse at high speeds (over the 35mph they usually go) and it would rattle the water glasses at the Concourse Steakhouse. I think this was mentioned in an earlier Podcast.

What I was implying earlier about the rate of speed in the dark is Space Mountain goes 35 mph actually, but in the dark it feels more like 40-45 mph.

According to Kevin and John, the Express monorail was the fastest ride at WDW as it went through the Contemporary.

Very good guesses. I didn't get this, Kevin had to help me. I didn't even consider the monorail as a possibility.

Okay, next question:

How many hills are there on Splash Mountain at the MK in WDW?

What they hey, 3. It's been awhile! I am like a cat when I get water on me and have to walk around in soggy socks and shoes!

There is the one at the laughing place

the one fake out

the actual hill

the tiny one after the hill

and I think there is another tiny one ?

There are seven hills (i will try to remember all of them)
- one after you go up the first hill
- one after you go around the front of the mountain
- one after you go through the first part of the story
- two to the laughing place(down then up then down) (i thought there was another one somewhere, i really don't count this as two, but i couldn't think of where it was)
- the big one into the briar patch
- one after the big hill

Oh, and how long is this ride? (And don't peak at the ride times page on wdwinfo!)
