I would really like to go to WDW at Christmas time :santa: . With the kids school schedule the only time we could go is right before or right after Christmas and stay for New Years. I am leaning more toward Dec 16 - Dec 23. Right now we are planning a trip for Spring Break March 16- March 22 2008. But I'm looking at bumping that up to Christmas 2007 ::yes:: . How are the crowds comparsion of these times? I have only been recently in Oct, which was wonderful and I know these other times will be more busy than our last trip but with school schedules now these are our only two times to choose from at this time. Any experiences and tips would be great.

We were there last year the week before Christmas. We spent Christmas Day with family in the area and checked out the next am. The week between Christmas and New Year is the most busy week of the year at WDW, so go before Christmas!! The earlier part of our trip crowds were manageable, but they got more and more crazy as we approached the 25th! It is a beautiful time to go, we did all of the special Holiday things, MVMCP, the CP, OSL, ect. We did a couple of late night EMHs. We also toured all of the deluxe resorts to see the decorations! I just looked at it like this, we go so often we did not need to see every show and ride every ride. We were there for the Christmas festivities! It was wonderful, we hope to do it again soon!!
Oh, I forget, we did the Hoop De Doo for Christmas eve and then got in the hot tub at WL....excellent :) .

Hi there! Only advice is JUST GO!!!! It will be the best ever holiday you will have. We arrived Christmas Eve evening very, very tired and we all agreed to stay in bed - yeh, fat chance! I woke up about six, hung little stockings on childrens doors making sure I made enough noise to wake everyone. We made MK by 9.30, only saw rain for half an hour the whole two weeks. Beautiful sunsets while the snow was falling in MGM while in awe at Osbourne Lights, constant Christmas music. Epcot at New Year was even better! Loudest fireworks I have ever heard. Too much to write about. I only came on the site to check out a few things and here I am subscribing to the forum and giving advice!

As a little extra, you must take a trip to Celebration. Snow on the ground every hour from six - snow angels galore!

Trust me - I am 46, I know what I am talking about - GO!!!!

DW and I go every year right before Christmas - the crowds are very manageable - and totally unlike what you will see between Christmas and New Year's. This year we'll be arriving on the 17th, and hit all the parks before Christmas. Christmas Day we see the CP show and have dinner at Rose & Crown at Epcot. Trust me - MK is WAY overcrowded on Dec 25 - it just isnt worth it :guilty:

Have fun - and Christmas at WDW is super magical!!!

I enjoy going the week before Xmas. Like others have said the closer it gets to the 25th, the more crowded it gets, but is definitely managable. I feel that the lines are not as bad as during the summer.

Another option is the Week of Thanksgiving. My family went around that time a few years back and it was very nice. No crowds and the day after Turkey day it's all decorated for Christmas. We hope to do that again next year.

I think this is by far the best time to go all the parks are decorated up for christmas, and the crowds are not that bad.

I am also looking into a December 2007 trip. We leave in two weeks and when we get back I think I will start planning that trip. My daughter's birthday is December 16th. I think it would be awsome for her to turn 8 in WDW! Plus, I think it would be so magical to to there during Christmas. I am planning a week before Christmas trip as well!!

We went last year 19th-23rd. I too was worried about crowds. But it was not bad at all. We did all the EMH evenings, stayed late in the parks and slept in. The only times we had some long lines was the day we didn't arrive in MGM untill 11:00, had to wait about 45 min for RnRC. But we were always still able to get fastpasses even though we didn't get into the parks til late.

We went to the last MVMCP of the year. Crowds were not bad at all. We saw the 2nd parade and rode all the rides we wanted to before that.

we are planning our first hoilday trip there but it will be the 2nd week of dec. and i cant wait

I have gone the first week in December and it was Fabulous! We were able to get on all the rides because there was practically no lines. At MGM TOT we walked in all the way and rode twice in less than 30 minutes!!! I am returning in Dec 2006 with DH and the kids. I highly recommend going at this time of the year.

This is my first post I am so EXCITED! I am so glad to have found the Disboard. Thank-You to everyone for sharing all their Disney knowledge.
