OK here is the deal, my wfie and I and DD Ashton will be visiting Disney in December for a week + with little out of pocket except for food, souvenirs etc.....how did we do it??????

Marriott Rewards, you see my job was downsized and I had to take a corp position based in the field, which means I travel a lot! Which stinks, but it isn't as bad as it sounds. Becasue I get to keep all the points. I have a group of ten that I manage and I get all of their points too!

I've tried to get them to sign up for rewards and they won't they are all mainly single males from the ages of 19-35.

So here is the deal:
7 day hopper tickets for my wife, daughter and I using Marriott points.

Dec 5- 7 at the new JW MARRIOT in ORLANDO, a grade 7 hotel (this is there highest grade, looks lush and awesome, comparable to the gaylord place) free with marriott points.

Dec 7-14th at OKW (on the waiting list for BWV) 0 out of pocket cause I'm a dvc owner!

2 days at Universal 0 out of pocket from previous purchased tickets!

Most of the spending money will come from my medical flex spending acocunt at work, you know one of those things were you put x amount in every paycheck on a pre-tax basis and then pay deductibles/perscipritions/glassess/contacts etc., and it is re-imbursed from that account. I have saved everything up and submitting it for a big fat electronic xfer.

We have saved the $400 child tax releif check and all of my future mileage expense checks, and we shouldn't even have to touch a debit card while we are there!

And the best thing about all of this is besides it is free is that several reward programs are doubling miles and points right now through Jan 31rs and I'm platinum members in most so I'm getting a 20-30% bonus on top of that.

Oh yeah the flights..I'm paying $200 for my daughters flight, I have earned 2 free continental flights with their fly 3 get 1 free promotion.

Somtimes I hate the travel, but this is a nice PERK!

Hula-baloo -
Let's say we start a RP Bad BOYS club -
From what I gather you have to drink alot, get naked in public places and dance - (except for the dancing that sounds like a normal Friday night for me.) we will just add in owning a Harley or Vette and I think we are set!!!

I just love the perks that come from all the incentive programs. With DH being in business for himself, all overhead is paid using business rewards credit cards. We already have free airfare and I'm working on a free car rental for our next trip.

Looks like you did pretty good for yourself, Hulabaloo. Have a great trip!

Odddog:cool:

I'm with you except for the Harley and a vette, will a Navigator and a QX4 due? I say we are not just members of the club but the FOUNDING MEMBERS of the club, meaning once again all newbies buy the first round! I will have a Grey Goose and lemonade or a Glen Levit on the rocks. There choice.

I have to ask about the medical transfer part of your plan. As far as I know (as well as my wife who is a CPA) the money you put into those medical programs can ONLY go towards medical expenses because it is pre-taxed. If there are unused funds (according to IRS rules) it disappears. So how are you getting money back out of that fund? Just curious.

I have not submitted claims though I have several, I have paid all deductibles/co-payments out of pocket, it is a re-imbursement account, so all I have to do is submit the claims and the deposit the funds into my account. Make sense??? There will be no money left....

The type of car is incidental (although the chicks dig the car);)
I think what is important here is the alcohol level consumed! Make mine a Jack D straight up! And don't forget power tools,
Ya can't operate power tools sober LOL - where is the fun in that?! Now where do we find the newbies!??!
By the way congrats on the rewards - way to go, I get alot of mine through Hilton Honors.

OK.... so essentially you are pre-paying your trip. As I see it, you put the money into an account that was supposed to be used for medical expenses. You then, during the year, go to the doctor, dentist, etc and pay for the visits out of your pocket. You then get reimbursed from the medical account and put that money aside for your trip.

It isn't free money, just money that you were saving through a different vehicle (the medical account). At the end of the year, this part of your deal is as just as if you had spent the medical account for your medical expenses and took your trip money from your regular savings account.

As I see it, we all do that and haven't really gained anything.

I think I'll have to look into a Flex account for next year. My DH, love him dearly, is not a saver. If we have $1 he wants to spend $1.50. Using the flex plan in Hulabaloo's way would "force" a savings account ... getting us to Disney sooner.

I third the formation of the RP Bad Boys Club!!

the chicks dig the car

Chicks?!

Ok, maybe not "free", but creative financing. Some people (me included) need to use mirrors and fog to get to the same outcome. I'd say he's gained something by saving creatively.

Belle101-
I'm an RP Bad Boy -
You were expecting Political Correctness??!!:bounce:
Have a drink on me (I don't really want to offend - it just happens that way!!)

odddog -- you didn't really offend me (although if I pretend it did I get a free drink, so maybe it did!). Being an RP Bad Girl I was just trying to give you a hard time.

I see you need a visit from the Tag Fairy -- I'll have to make a few sugestions.

Thanks for the drink!!

and now ther's a RP boys club !!! Good grief things work fast around here.............
