Day 1, June 27.
Players: Mark, Jan, Elliot

We actually began our trip on the 26th, traveled from NC to St. Augustine area and stayed at a cheap Econo Lodge.

We are arrived at the WL at around 9 a.m. I requested the concierge and got it...so excited....was only an additional $38.25 per night. What a bargin. I had asked about concerige on the phone, and it would have been practically double if I had booked it in advance. My advice...just ask when you get there, and get there early...the pixie dust was flying... I initially booked at POFQ. So my upgrade from PO was $20 per night to WL and then 38 for concierge. Not to bad...from moderate to deluxe concierge for $58. It was also our 25th wedding anniversary and I didnt mind the extra...plus, because I mentioned the anniversary in the fax I sent earlier....we got a nice certificate from the WL...more magic...lol

Room wasnt ready, so we went to MGM for a while. Walked down to the R&R area....some guy just handed me a free fastpass to R&R..more pixie dust...this trip was looking up already...so we road it , and my son used the extra fastpass.

Went to Brown Derby for lunch. Had our usual cobb salads. They didnt show shrimp on the menu for it, so we asked and got a nice skewer of big grilled shrimp...very tasty. My goal was also to try a lot of creme brulee's this trip. We shared one at the Brown Derby. It was a vanilla flavor and came with a cinimon cookie. It was smooth and creamy, but nothing to get real excited about. We tried others on our trip. I will post a review of all them. I would rate this one 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. My son is a CM at the Disney Store...got a 20% discount on the Brown Derby bill...more pixie dust...We saved 20% on all but 2 resteruants and saved 20% on all merchandise that we bought. Including the Gallery Cel I got at the Animation shop.

After lunch, did the Great Movie Ride. Then went back to the WL and our room was ready. Went up to the 7th floor and got some free snacks and a coke. The room was nice but was on the side facing the WL villas.

After a short break and unpacking, we went over to Epcot. Got there right before 4 P.M. and sure enough....Mission Space was doing a preview...more pixie dust....we all rode it 2 times...and that was enough for one day...the ride is great, but is intense with all the "g" forces involved. It is different from anything else. A lot more force than R&R.

We hung out at Epcot for a while, then went back to the WL. They had some desserts and wine at the food area. Went to the room and found we had turn down service and chocolates on the pillows...I am beginning to like first class accomodations..lol

It was a great day 1....

Wow ~ so much pixie dust for one day!

Great trip report so far, and hat was a super bargain upgrading to concierge when you orginally booked at moderate, way to go!

Thanks for sharing ~ Wonderful reviews!!!!

I am so happy for you. Is it that simple? Can I just ask to be upgraded to concierge at check-in? It seems too easy?
