Disney transportation

Is the disney transportation just for those staying at a disney hotel? We are staying in downtown disney at the hilton and it says we get shuttle service to the parks. But can we ride the monorail? everyone keeps telling me to go ride in the front of the monorail as a fun thing to do. But im not sure if we are even allowed to ride the monorail or not. Is it part of the disney hotel or can anyone going to the park use it?

Yes you can ride the monorail, not sure if they are letting people in the front since the accident they had a couple months back though. I don't believe they were initially but that could have changed.

Anyone can ride the Disney buses, boats and monorail.

They are not letting anyone ride up front in the monorails and there are no plans to change that soon.
