Actually several bus drivers have told us that the more expensive the resort the less buses that go to that resort. It is because there are less rooms and less guests. We stay at POR so the buses are there all the time. Of course the POR is huge.
It's not susposed to work that way although sometimes it does. The dispatcher is susposed to dispatch a bus to each resort every 20 minutes or less depending on volume and bus availability. Drive times by various bus drivers will affect those times but it should not be by more than 5 or 10 minutes. Traffic on property, traffic lights, guests themselves and wheelchairs /
ECV's also have on effect on time.
An example, one AM route from MK is MK/WL/GF/TL/MP/PI/MK. Empty bus is dispatched at the 15 minute mark from the last bus. Goes to WL and loads 25 guests and 1 ECV (and waits another minute because one of the kids ran ahead, gets on the bus and asks to wait for the rest of the family walking down from the lobby) Now you have added another 5 to 10 minutes to the time (loading and strapping in the ECV and waiting for the family). Goes to GF and loads another ECV and 15 more guests (add another 5 minutes). Head over to TL, gets caught in a line of RV's going to FW on Vista Blvd. Hits all red lights on Bonnet Creek Parkway and BVD. Turns into TL and unloads 30 guests and one ECV. Time to TL in now 15 minutes late (a 30 minute wait time at TL) Hits the next 4 red lights going to Marketplace, unloads 8 guests (wait time at MP in now 40 minutes). Over to PI and empties bus (wait time at PI is 45 minutes)
So you see if someone had come on an earlier bus and wanted to return to MK to get back to a MK resort and boarded at MP the wait would have been 40 to 45 minutes if they had just missed the last bus. The bus was actually dispatched 5 minutes early and was still 20 minutes late getting to DTD.
Now:
wow, i was just at disney world nd i hate the transportation the buses are always late at the resort and magical express has the slowest drivers in the area. so post your opionions here
goofy_kid,
In order to have some credibility, you need to post specifics. You have made a lot of generalizations about Disney Transport. What is your definition of late? Is a late bus one that you had to wait 20 minutes for because you just missed the last one? What resort were you staying at? What time of day did you experience problems? What parks were you trying to get to when you say the buses were always late? Were you trying to go from resort to resort?
It's my guess that you may of had a couple of extended waits and now you have just painted the entire trip as bad due to these couple of times.
If you use fact and examples to state your case you will have a much better time backing up your opinion both here on these boards and in life as well.
BTW: Do you know that a CDL driver can lose their license on 1 speeding ticket if it is fast enough? Doing 75mph in a 55mph zone will do it. A lost license to a bus driver is unemployment and a new career. Thats why the majority of the drivers obey ALL traffic laws
