Hi! :wave2:

We're going to bring a stroller from home, and I was wondering about strollers going on Disney transportation. Can you take strollers on the buses, boats, monorail, etc? This will be our first trip in many years, and our first trip with a child.

Thanks for your help!

Hugs,
Margo

Yes you can bring the stroller on all of the disney transportation.:)

Have a great trip:teeth:

The bus driver puts it in the under stroage thing if it is big, they make it very easy.

Yes, you can bring your stroller on all WDW transportation.

*the larger boats and monorail - just roll it on with child in stroller.

*smaller boats and buses - you must fold up stroller and hold child. One very late night the bus driver did not make the family fold the stroller but they did have to take the child out

Everyone is very accomodating when it comes to strollers.

Depending on where you stay, you may want to make sure that your stroller folds up small. When we stayed at CBR, we made sure that our stroller wasn't too large since lugging it in and out of the bus was a pain. Last trip when we stayed at the Poly, we drove to MGM and AK so we didn't have to worry about the issue.

The WDW resort buses don't have any under storage area. If you bring a stroller on the WDW bus, you will need to fold and hold it.
Some of the non-Disney resorts have shuttle buses that might have an under the bus storage area. The Mears buses that you can take from the airport ot the hotels DO have under bus storage areas for luggage and strollers.

Its been a few years (2000), I must have been thinking about the hotel bus, thanks for the correction.

We just did this same kind of trip last year (a small child, and a stroller.) We had no trouble with any of the transportation. It does get a little cramped on the busses going from the resorts to the Parks, so an umbrella stroller seems like the best bet from that standpoint....

At the parks, we generally had to leave the stroller outside of rides/attractions/restaurants in the "stroller parking" area. If you're uncomfortable at the thought of leaving a diaper bag in the stoller unattended, you might want to bring a diaper backpack, or something easy to carry into the rides with you.

Have fun!!

It's also a good idea to have the stroller already folded and ready to go when the bus/boat gets there.

Please don't flame me, it's just one of my pet peeves. We always get "struck" behind people with a stroller, packed full of bags and the child still in it, that wait until the bus arrives and opens the door to board before they take everything out and then fold up the stroller etc. Of course, they are usually first in line, holding everyone up. It must be the impatient NY'er in me! ;)

Yes we do bring a stroller and yes it is always folded and ready to go before the bus arrives.

I am also a NY'er and one that waits till the last minute to fold up the strollerS!

I have 3 small children and 2 strollers with lots of stuff packed in them. What are we to do when we empty them out? The children run off.....there is stuff all over the floor.....we only have so many hands!!

Ok, but it would be really nice and considerate if while folding the stroller and getting everything together people would allow the other guests to board the bus. I, and other people, also have my hands full with my kids, our packages and diaper bags and with a folded stroller. It would be easier for us to wait on the bus than out in the hot sun, or rain etc. for everything to be organized.

I'm not saying you personally because I don't know whether you let other people pass or not.

We had a sit & stand stroller for our last visit. It was pretty bulky too. We took in on the buses and were able, most of the time, to store it under the bench seats towards the back of the bus so it really didn't get in anyone's way. It was harder on the return trips when there are so many people waiting in line to go back to their resorts.

The good thing is that most people there are so understanding and have BTDT or are doing the same.

We usually folded it up before the bus arrived and were able to get right on the bus. On the boats from WL to MK, most of the time we could wheel it right on, but you'd have to "park" it and possibly sit somewhere else.

Overall, it wasn't a problem. Our next visit in Oct/Nov we will just be bringing an umbrella stroller.

Anyway, that was our experience.

Have a magical time!!!

I took a full double stroller on the bus it is easy when it isnt crowded. I found it easier to drive to most of the parks and walk to the gate since it is really hard to get a double stroller on the tram.

This worked out really well when we lef the MK after WISHES whenhte park was open until 10 pm. The kids fell asleep in the stroller and i walked then to the car put them i n the car drove back to the resort put them badk n the stroller and went to the room.

We took our big heavy stroller last year and it was a pain to load on the buses and especially the trams that take you from the parking lot at Animal Kingdom to the front entrance. This year we are bringing our super lightweight 8 pound Maclaren Volo that folds up like an umbrella and is the best stroller we have ever owned. My DD is 2 years old and she never fusses in this stroller, plus it pushes like a dream!!!:wave2:

As stated above - YES.
My advice, get a lightweight foldable stroller. If you do not get a seat on the bus, you will not want to carry or balance a heavy stroller. :(
