I think this qualifies as Arts and Crafts, as much as bead work or any other craft where one starts with molded pieces of plastic, and then assembles the pieces into their own creation.
This is my representation of the Disney Train Engine 'Walter E. Disney'. It is scaled so that the Lego Mickey Mouse character fits into the cab, in similar cramped conditions to those the Disney train engineers experience.
I have included some pictures of the real Engine for comparison.
More pictures here (including some of the construction details).

I do have a bumper that I sometimes add to the back of the engine, that is not on the real version.
It gives my Lego Mickey a place to stand when he is not doing the driving.
The train is designed to run on multiple styles of Lego train track. It has the newer Power Function remote built into the cab. This allows it to work on the Duplo track, or the newer Lego Power Function track. If I want to run it using the older Lego 9V system, I use a Tender that is built on top of the old 9V train piece. The lamp does light up, when the train runs. It does not use real steam, and the stacks do not smoke.
