Due to budgeting issues (and falling in love with a local venue) the likelihood of my DFTW is looking slimmer and slimmer. :( I am a bit sad, but not totally bummed, because we'll do a WDW honeymoon and DF is definitely on board with wearing the newlywed ears (YES!!)

However, I would love to have some subtle Disney touches at our wedding because everyone knows we are obsessed with the mouse. My theme is going to be black and white, so some hidden Mickeys would definitely work.

I'd also love to incorporate Disney music into the wedding (we must dance to "When You Wish Upon a Star") and Soarin' is our favorite ride, I'd love to walk down the aisle to the music.. but is this weird? I'd even love to have the Innoventions plaza music playing somewhere in the reception since Epcot is our favorite park.

Do any of you have some good ideas on how to incorporate Disney and Disney music into our wedding subtly? (I'm not talking putting a Mickey mouse topper on the cake, just not my style) thanks!!

that is a great idea! If I were having a brunch reception, I would totally have Mickey waffles! (Now I'm longing for Mickey waffles though)

Mickey Mouse cufflinks!!! (DH wore soccer ball ones <3 )

What about Dole Whips at the reception?

Ok. I need more details.

You will need music while people arrive, both before the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. I'm a traditional "here comes the bride" fan when walking up the aisle, but when you two walk down it should be joyful! My BIL and new bride walked down to Star Wars Cantina Band. Awesome.

The cake is a good place for hidden mickeys. The grooms cake is generally chocolate (brown) and usually more whimsical - a Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge theme? Or your Disneymoon resort?

When you two leave and people throw rice - maybe a Wishes theme? Multicolored sparklers?

My husband and I did the same thing. We had a local wedding with Disney touches. I ordered the DFTW CD off Amazon and played that as guests were entering the garden and finding seats. It will probably be obvious to Disney obsessed guests but not as noticeable to others. The songs sound so romantic. As we were "pronounced" our Officiant said "and they lived happily ever after." (I'll admit that part was cheesy.) We walked/danced back down the aisle to the theme song for Fantasmic. No one recognized the song, but several people mentioned it was a fun way to exit. When we entered the reception, we had Ever, Ever After (Carrie Underwood from Enchanted) playing.

We did a whole fairy tale theme. We had "glass slippers" on the table. The favors were candles with glittery castles on them. We actually had another favor that was "pixie dust" (a sache of lovely smelling bath salts) that was attached to a card that talked about dreams coming true and spreading pixie dust. Our cake had the phrase "And hey lived happily ever after" written in scrolling script.
I also ordered a white chocolate cake topper from a company in Orlando. It was beautiful!

Our invitations were a close up picture of the castle with a vellum overlay with the actual words printed on it.

Point being, you can totally have some Disney magic at home. ;) Congratulations!

These are all such good ideas! I'll have to get the CD from Amazon.. I'd also love some mermaid things because my name is Arielle and my DF's first movie ever was The Little Mermaid (oh god, how cheesy are we!) thank you guys for the fantastic ideas!!

I always love the instrumental to Be Our Guest playing at either at the end of the ceremony or at the beginning of the reception when gets enter, since they ARE your guests ;).

haha YES me and my DF spent a good portion of last night watching Disney stuff on youtube and we decided it's absolutely necessary to play Be Our Guest somewhere in the reception! It's just too perfect!

We were married in Disney and our reception was at ADH. We had Be Our Guest playing as our guests went from our Cocktail Hour to our Reception - same building - different floors.

You can have some type of strobe light casting the Mickey image that rotates around the room, something similar to a disco ball, that would cast the Mickey ears image around the room or reflected on the walls.

I'm with the traditional wedding march when you are going down the aisle, if for nothing else your parents' sake. I know it's your wedding but that part of it is an important part for mom and dad too (they normally cry at this point).

You can surely do Disney cake, Disney favors, Disney center pieces, and play the EPCOT music. Wouldn't hurt also to have a few of the Disney stuffed dolls on the tables. You could even theme each table with a Disney theme, i.e. Ariel table, Mickey table, Cinderella table, Sleeping Beauty table, Snow White, etc. etc. etc. and purchase items accordingly for each table.

Best Wishes!

I just got married in March and knew I had to add disney touches since we decided against an actual Disney wedding. I bought my husband mouse ear cuff links as part of his gift, he loves them and they were great for detail shots.

I also had a few mouse ear brooches incorporated into my bouquet (I did brooches over my flowers, not all brooches). My grandmother had an old Judith Lieber mouse ear hat pin so that was also in my bouquet.

As our cake topper we used one of the small glass castles I had purchased at Disney World. Mickey Mouse on a cake is not my thing either! But the castle seemed to go over really well and now I love that its on our shelf...fun little reminder for us :)

And one final thing, on our table number sign things, I used a mouse ear paper cutter (I got it in the scrapbook department of hobby lobby I believe) in a corner of each sign. The actual sign was white and I just had a sheet of paper behind it that was one of our wedding colors to make the mouse ears pop.

All little details but it made us happy to have our "hidden Mickeys."

Edit: oh and I forgot the big one. Grooms cake was RockN Roller coaster! It was two layers but they slanted from one to the other, no clear separation (hard to explain), and that slant was the track with a blue limo on it. It was all black and they had neon signs stuck in at different places over the track. Not sure how many people got it but WE loved it.

We are doing touches of Disney at our wedding in September. We are doing a love/couples/ forever theme so our tables are named after couples with great love stories, half of them are our favorite disney couples! I have made up table cards that I am going to print out and glue to a blue card stock I've bought

We are having a very simular centerpiece just for our sweetheart table

We are also going to put our mickey ears on the table as well, probably on either side of the centerpiece

My aunt made me this sign and gave it to me at the bridal shower, we will display it somewhere at the wedding

We ordered this, thinking it was a cake topper. But when it arrived it we learned that it is huge and much much too big to be on a cake, lol. So we will just display it somewhere at the wedding :) We are now in the search of another cake topper

We are going to make this ourselves for our "card box". We are going to buy a mailbox from walmart (they are relatively inexpensive) paint it white, then put our names and hand prints on it :)

I have forgotten to come back to this post but I wanted to say WOW you ladies have amazing ideas and I will *definitely* be stealing some for our wedding!! Bravo! The creativity on these boards is absolutely wonderful!

We get married next week!
We are only having 2 subtle Disney things -
1. Mickey and Minnie cake topper with them dressed in wedding stuff! I got it off eBay! It's official merchandise and is ceramic!
2. We decided to name tables after Disney couples! I made the table name cards myself with small diamanté mickeys at the top!

Since UP is my favorite movie , we are doing a fingerprint guest book with our house on the canvas and strings coming up with our guests fingerprints as the balloons. Thinking of putting our names on the bottom with wedding date and the words " our greatest adventure"

Wow! Super idea! I love it!

We got married in Cape May, NJ and we had some little Disney touches in our wedding.

We had a Disney Honeymoon registry (BEST THING EVER) which was frowned upon at first but family and friends thought it was a great idea!

We entered the reception to "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride" (Lilo & Stitch) because that's "our" movie and then our 1st dance was to "I See the Light" (Tangled).

I was going to get Rapunzel and Flynn for a caketopper but my mom said it "wasn't appropriate for a wedding". I then tried to get Lilo & Stitch, but found a Stitch & Angel one.

Already told DH for a vow renewal that's going to be our caketopper because the vow renewal=the wedding the way I originally wanted it to be (my mom planned our wedding).
