Disney to Universal for 2 days?

We will be staying at Courtyard in DTD. Can anyone suggest the best way to get to and from Universal for 2 days? We don't plan to rent a car, but I'm afraid that the cost of transportation to and from Universal might be more expensive than renting a car.

Looks like we'll be at WDW at nearly the same time! Have fun on your second honeymoon!

DF and I will be doing two days at the US/IOA parks as well, and we ended up renting a car for that specific need. I've heard that taxi fare can be pricey, and unless you want to gamble with a Mears shuttle, renting your own car could be the way to go. We got a 9-day rental through Dollar for only $225, thanks to a Mouse Saver's code, and we figured that we'll definitely break even with not having to pay for towncar fare to/from the airport and trasportation to/from the US/IOA parks. Those expenses alone would probably have been well over the rental fee!
